The present invention relates to a composition of substances, preferably obtained from natural sources, effective in the prevention and/or treatment of hepatobiliary conditions and diseases. Provided is an item sorting system and method. The system includes: a supply end configured to provide a to-be-sorted item in the first area; a moving transport apparatus configured to transport the to-be-sorted item in a second area; and an item receiving apparatus configured to receive the to-be-sorted item in a third area. A neck guard (100) configured to protect a wearer's neck and throat from injury is provided. It comprises a continuous, slash-resistant tube defining inside (102) and outside (104) surfaces, as well as spaced apart top and bottom edges (106, 108). The tube is sized to fit over the wearer's head for positioning around the neck, and the top edge is contoured to follow the shape of the wearer's jaw and skull. The present invention relates to a portable system for diagnosing the health status of a patient's skin according to a not invasive mode, based on the analysis of the skin autofluorescence spectrum. The system is configured to emit an excitation light radiation in the ultraviolet at the skin portion to be investigated, to collect the reflected radiation and to analyse the autofluorescence spectra of the skin by means of a spectrophotometer. A microcontroller allows to examine all spectral components, without limiting to specific wavelength ranges, by means of the phasor method. The application of the phasor method returns, as result for each analysed spectrum, the values of the cosine and sine components, which are represented as a point on the phasor plane. The mapping of the phasor plane allows to associate immediately the position of the point in the plane under pathological dermatological conditions.
