Abstract
A method for voltage regulation includes reducing a power consumption of a voltage regulator (30) during an IDLE phase, by disabling a feedback loop (14) configured to regulate an internal voltage (52) to a multiple of a reference voltage (38) in response to the voltage regulator (30) receiving a digital signal (42) from a digital circuit (20). The internal voltage (52) is proportional to an external voltage (104) supplied to the digital circuit (20). A regulated accuracy of the external voltage (104) is increased during a MEASUREMENT phase by enabling the feedback loop (14) in response to the voltage regulator (30) receiving the digital signal (42) from the digital circuit (20).
