Abstract
The present invention discloses a qMRI system and method for mapping one or several qMRI parameters of a biological object (206), the method comprising the steps of:-performing (301), by the MRI system (200), N scans C_1,...,C_N, wherein each scan C_j, with j = 1, ...,N, comprises performing (302) one or several T2-prepared inversion pulse series, each followed by M_j readout blocks, wherein each magnetization preparation RF pulse series is a T2-prepared inversion pulse series (41) comprising multiple pulses (412) and characterized by an echo time, i.e. inter-pulse duration, TE<sub>p</sub>_j, configured for varying in order to obtain different T2 weightings, and an acquisition (303), by the MRI system (200) and during each readout block of an MRI recovery signal generated by at least a part of said biological object (206) , wherein for each readout block R_i,j, an MRI signal S_i,j is acquired by the MRI system at a different inversion time TI_i,j, with i=1,...,M_j, and M_j ≥ 2;-reconstructing (304), for and from each MRI signal S_i,j, an image I_i,j of said part-creating (305) a voxel-wise signal (51) by concatenating intensity values (53) obtained for a same voxel for the reconstructed images;-fitting (306) a physical model to the concatenated intensity values (53) to obtain at least one qMRI map of one of said qMRI parameters.
