Abstract

A method (200) of fabricating an object, such as a three-dimensional object comprising variable-density regions (104), preferably using a fused filament fabrication technique, comprising the steps of: depositing (202) a material to create a first layer of the object based on a first pathway in the X, Y and Z dimensions, wherein the first layer (100) comprises first regions (102) including a first infill density, preferably porous regions; and depositing (204) the material to create second regions (104) by filling selected pores of the porous regions (102) within the first layer (100) based on a second pathway in the X, Y and Z dimensions, wherein the second regions (104) include a second infill density; wherein the second infill density is greater than the first infill density.
