Abstract

Methods and systems for controlling access to restricted functionality (125) of a computing device (100) are provided. The method (400) can include receiving a request for access to restricted functionality (125) of a computing device (100), the request for access identifying at least a portion of the restricted functionality (125) to be unlocked. The method (400) can include transmitting the request to a trusted license store (140) and receiving data indicative of a license, including an identifier of the portion of the restricted functionality (125) and a number of times the user may access the restricted functionality (125). The method (400) can include determining that the user has not accessed the restricted functionality (125) more than the number of times the user may access the restricted functionality (125). The method (400) can include, in response to determining that the user has not accessed the restricted functionality (125) more than the number of times, providing access to the restricted functionality (125).
