Abstract
This disclosure relates to network communication, particularly, with flows comprising encrypted packets. The disclosure provides a source node for sending packets to a target node, and a middle node between the source and target node. The source and the middle node each determine a temporary key based on a master symmetric key, which is available at the source and the middle node. Further, they each determine a pseudo-random sequence based on the temporary key. The source node sends a sequence of packets towards the target node, each packet comprising one element of the pseudo-random sequence as identifier, and the sequence of packets comprising the elements of the pseudo-random sequence in order. The middle node receives a plurality of packets, and identifies the sequence of packets sent by the source node in the plurality of packets by comparing identifiers of the packets with elements of the pseudo-random sequence.
