Abstract

A method of determining regulated common-feature-groups in measurement data of a measurement system comprises an identification of first and/or second sample features represented by their mass to charge ratio (m/z), associated intensities (I) and preferably their retention time (RT) and/or their ion mobility (IM) in first and second sample data sets, a grouping of at least some of the first sample features and/or of the second sample features based on their mass to charge ratio (m/z) and preferably their retention time (RT) and/or their ion mobility (IM) into one or more common-feature-groups, and a determination of at least one common-feature-group as a regulated common-feature-group by comparing an abundance of the first sample features and the second sample features among each common-feature-groups, preferably by identifying a fold change and/or a regulation factor in the context of a gene or protein's expression being upregulated or downregulated.
