The present invention relates to a method for treating vegetable oils and/or animal fats comprising a vacuum steam stripping operation, condensing the neutral oils from vapour phase at an elevated temperature, retaining and sending back to the stripping column, allowing steam, volatile fatty acids, micronutrients together with other volatiles to pass to a cold condensation zone, and condensing the volatile fatty acids, micronutrients together with other volatiles in the cold condensation zone, producing a condensate and a stream of steam, non-condensable gases along with traces of fatty acids and other lighter hydrocarbons vapours. The invention may include a distillation step, either between the high and low temperature condensation zones or following the cold condensation zone.

The present invention relates to a method for separating solid particles from a liquid mixture in a centrifugal separator. The separator comprises a rotor body which is rotatable around an axis of rotation (R). The rotor body has a separation chamber for separating solid particles from the liquid mixture and an inlet for the liquid mixture and a screw conveyor adapted to rotate in the rotor body around the axis of rotation (R) for transporting the separated solid particles in the separation chamber (16) towards and out of a sludge outlet. The method comprises the steps of a) operating the separator in a separation phase, in which solid particles are separated from the liquid mixture, and b) operating the separator in an ejection phase, in which separated solid particles are transported towards the sludge outlet and further ejected out of the sludge outlet. An ejection liquid is introduced in the separation chamber during said ejection phase. The present invention further relates to a centrifugal separator for performing the method.

Lubrication control system (1) for intermittent dosing of lubricant to one or more lubrication stations in a centrifugal separator comprising a lubricant supply arrangement (2) for supplying lubricant to at least one lubrication station. At least one pump (3) is supplying intermittent pulsed volumes of lubricant from the lubricant supply arrangement (2) to at least one lubricant pulse monitoring device (6) comprising an elastic chamber (9) to receive said pulsed volumes of lubricant from the pump (3), an outlet export valve (11) at an outlet (10) from the elastic chamber (9) closing when a pulsed volume is delivered to the elastic chamber (9) and opening to deliver the lubricant to the lubrication station, and a pressure transmitter (14) measuring the pressure in said elastic chamber (9) at least when a pulsed volume is received in the elastic chamber (9). A control computer (5) regulating the pump (3) controlling the pulses, closing the outlet export valve (11) when a pulsed volume is delivered to the elastic chamber (9), controlling the measured pressure in the elastic chamber (9) and opening the outlet export valve for deliverance of lubricant to the lubrication station. Also a corresponding method comprises pumping intermittent pulsed volumes of lubricant to an elastic chamber (9), measuring the pressure in the elastic chamber (9) when the elastic chamber (9) has received a pulsed volume, controlling if the pressure corresponds to a required volume of lubricant, opening an outlet export valve (11) at an outlet (10) of said elastic chamber (9) and emptying the elastic chamber (9) and closing said outlet export valve (11) to receive next pulsed volume of lubricant to the elastic chamber (9).

A device (22) and a method for assessing a gasket pressure of a gasket arrangement between two adjacent heat transfer plates (10) of a plate heat exchanger (2) is provided. Further, a plate heat exchanger (2) provided with a device (22) like the one above is provided. The gasket arrangement seals between said adjacent heat transfer plates (10) to define a flow channel between said adjacent heat transfer plates (10), and said gasket arrangement is subjected to a number of specific outer conditions. The device (22) is characterized in that it comprises a test object (26) adapted to be arranged in connection to the heat exchanger (2) in order to be subjected to at least one of said specific outer conditions. The test object (26) is adapted to be arranged separated from the gasket arrangement and evaluated for an indirect assessment of the gasket pressure of the gasket arrangement.
