In some cabin layouts, the aircraft seat assembly is positioned adjacent to a lateral passageway extending from a longitudinal aisle to an aircraft door such that the at least one passenger seat faces away from the lateral passageway and the cabin attendant seat faces toward the lateral passageway to position a seated cabin crew member with the passengers and proximate the aircraft door.

A passenger seat or group of seats (102) includes a tray table (118) set into the armrest (110) on either side of the associated seat, the tray table capable of translating lengthwise along the armrest and pivoting between a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration. In the stowed configuration, the tray table extends vertically above the armrest and may be stowed between (and partially behind) the associated seat and an adjacent seat, serving as a partial barrier between the two seats. In the deployed configuration, the tray table extends horizontally across the associated seat for use by the occupying passenger. The tray table is padded (122) on its underside to provide the passenger with head and shoulder support when in the stowed configuration.

A slim aircraft monument is disclosed. In embodiments, the monument (100) is installable in an aircraft passenger cabin adjacent to a cabin space (e.g., in front of an otherwise unused exit door). The slim monument has an overall width of not more than four inches. The slim monument includes a side door (102) with an external handle, the door deployable into the cabin space to reveal a group of nested interconnected panels within. The nested panels (116a-d) are similarly deployable into the cabin space to form a substantially horizontal work surface and, underneath the work surface, vertically stacked bays providing temporary storage for storage drawers and a cart space adjacent to the storage drawers, the cart space capable of accommodating a half-size galley cart.

A waste system is disclosed. In some embodiments, the waste system includes a vacuum cell (104), a flexible waste container (112), and a vacuum source (102). The flexible waste container may have at least one flexible membrane at an interface between the flexible waste container and the vacuum cell. The vacuum source may be configured to suction air out of the vacuum cell to generate a negative pressure in the vacuum cell. The vacuum source discharge is generally odorless as it is separated from the waste. This odorless discharge can enter occupied aircraft compartments. The negative pressure in the vacuum cell acts on the flexible waste container to generate a (second) negative pressure in the flexible waste container. The negative pressure in the flexible waste container acts on an interface between a toilet and the flexible waste container to pull waste from the toilet into the flexible waste container.

The present disclosure provides an aircraft monument (116) housing a crew quarters positionable in an aircraft cabin adjacent a longitudinal aisle, and a combination including a passenger suite (112) and an aircraft monument (116) housing a crew quarters. The aircraft monument (116) includes a transverse wall (118) forming part of the monument and separating interior space (124) within the monument from the adjacent passenger suite (112). The interior space (124) of the monument is divided by a shelf (126) into upper (128) and lower (130) compartments and the crew quarters is positioned in the upper compartment (128) for resting and sleeping use by the cabin crew. The lower compartment (1300 may be used by the cabin crew or for locating galley components. The transverse wall (118) may be contoured such that the interior space (124) and the passenger suite (112) nest to maximize density. A footwell serving the passenger suite (112) may be recessed into the transverse wall (118).
