An arrangement for a tapering rear section of an aircraft passenger cabin (200) including a seat row (204) positioned between an aisle (202) and an exterior wall, and a closet (212) positioned behind the seat row (204). A first portion (214) of the closet extends behind the seat row (204) and a second portion (216) of the closet extends into gap space (210) formed between an outboard side of the seat row (204) and the exterior wall. The closet (212) forms interior space (218) dimensioned to accommodate a folded wheelchair positioned along the exterior wall, and interior space behind the seat row (204). The second portion (216) forms an exterior surface for use by a passenger in the seat row (204), for instance a horizontal surface (230) including a provision for mounting a bassinet (228). The interior space (218) is accessible from the rear facing side of the closet to facilitate stowing and retrieving items from the interior space.

A valve heater comprising a sheet (400, 405) into which is integrated one or more heating elements (410), the sheet being shaped to be located within a valve housing. The valve may be a ball valve comprising a valve housing (200) defining a flow conduit between an inlet (230) and an outlet (240) and a ball element (250) rotatably positioned in the housing, the ball element defining a channel (210) therethrough to form a fluid flow path through the valve in a valve open position when the channel is aligned with the flow conduit, and a valve heater located on an inner surface of the ball element that defines the channel.

A deployable cabin attendant seat system may include a primary cabin attendant seat (116), an auxiliary cabin attendant seat (116), a main support (300) coupled to at least one of the primary cabin attendant seat (116) or the auxiliary cabin attendant seat (116), and an actuation assembly coupled to at least the primary cabin attendant seat (116). The actuation assembly may be configured to actuate the primary cabin attendant seat (116) relative to the auxiliary cabin attendant seat (116) between a stowed seat position and a deployed seat position. The primary cabin attendant seat (116) and the auxiliary cabin attendant seat (116) may be arranged in a side-by-side configuration when the primary cabin attendant seat (116) is in the deployed seat position. The primary cabin attendant seat (116) may be stacked on the auxiliary cabin attendant seat (116) when the primary cabin attendant seat (116) is in the stowed seat position.

A disinfecting system for a lavatory may comprise an ultraviolet light source (110), a controller (120) in operable communication with the ultraviolet light source (110), and a lavatory sensor operably coupled to the controller (120). The controller (120) may be configured to track a number of consecutive incomplete dosage cycles. A locking arrangement (202) for an aircraft galley system comprises a sensor (206, 208, 214) and a controller (210), wherein the sensor is configured to determine when a galley insert (104, 204) has been received by a galley assembly (102, 206) and the controller is configured to control a lock (212) to lock the galley insert to the galley assembly in response to the galley insert being received by the galley assembly.

In some embodiments, neuromorphic sensors (114) and smart devices are communicatively coupled to a controller (112) operative to analyze object movements and instruct smart devices to operate according to preprogrammed instructions. Non-limiting examples include detecting passenger movements in passenger seating areas and lavatories (110) associated with smart devices, detecting movements of smart devices configured to traverse aircraft aisles (106), etc. The neuromorphic sensors (114) are incapable of capturing visually recognizable passenger identities and therefore satisfy privacy concerns.

A rotary recline mechanism for allowing reclining movement of a first part relative to a second part, the mechanism comprising: a first gear mechanism comprising first (10) and second (20) gear rings having first (3) and second (3') sets of teeth that engage to lock the first and second parts relative to each other and disengage on operation of an actuator (5) to allow relative movement of the first and second parts by application of a force on one of the parts in a first direction, and a second override gear mechanism (21, 23, 25) to allow relative movement of the first and second parts by application of a force in a second direction while the first and second sets of teeth are engaged.

A method and system may include commanding, by a processor, a lighting system to generate a desired melanopic effect in accordance with a spectral weighting mode. To determine, by the processor, the spectral weighting mode based on an algorithm that compares a part of a spectrum for an amount of melanopic lumen to a melanopic sensitivity curve to generate a result comprising a melanopic ratio. In response to the result comprising the melanopic ratio, to by determine by the processor a visual brightness by calculations using an algorithmic solution based on the melanopic ratio multiplied by an amount of color temperature generating the visual brightness in accordance with the spectral weighting mode of the desired melanopic effect.

A gasper assembly for use in a passenger aircraft. The gasper assembly includes an inlet (200) comprising a socket (220) configured to receive intake air; and an outlet (204) comprising a body mounted in the socket that is manually adjustable to direct a stream of airflow received via the inlet in a first direction and in a second direction. The body is further configured by a first rotation to direct the stream of airflow in the first direction and by a second rotation to direct the stream of airflow in the second direction wherein the first direction is substantially perpendicular to the second direction.
