Composite grafts and implantable medical devices include a polymeric layer and a non-porous silicone coating that includes a two-part dispersion of silicone material in an organic solvent. The polymeric layer has a first surface and a second surface, where the first surface and the second surface are positioned on opposite sides of the polymeric layer, and where the first surface is the blood-contacting surface and the second surface is the tissue-contacting surface. The non-porous silicone coating includes a two-part dispersion of silicone material in an organic solvent. The silicone coating is disposed on at least the first surface of the polymeric layer such that the at least first surface or a portion thereof has a substantially reduced permeability or is entirely impermeable. The coating does not substantially increase the thickness of the medical device and reduces the surface friction of the medical device while making the graft layer impermeable to fluids. Methods of making the implantable medical device and methods of repairing or treating a defective vessel in an individual, including treating AAA and thoracic aneurysm, are also provided. |

The present disclosure provides for a device and methods of use to endoluminally ablate and/or occlude a body vessel using a current to perform resistive heating. The device includes a resistive coil having thermistor properties where the resistance of the coil changes as a function of temperature. A control unit will detect the voltage, current, and resistance in the coil during the heating of the coil to determine the temperature of the coil. As occlusion occurs and the cooling effect of blood flow decreases, less power will be required to maintain the coil at a desired temperature. Detecting a large decrease in required power will indicate to the control unit that the body vessel has become occluded. |

Zusammenfassung
An endoscopic needle knife may include a collet coupled to a distal end of a tubular member of the needle knife. A cutting wire may be disposed within a cutting wire lumen of the tubular member and a central lumen of the collet. An inner surface of the collet body may create a frictional force between the cutting wire and the inner surface so that the cutting wire is resistant to longitudinal movement relative to the tubular member caused by external forces. The frictional force may also be less than a longitudinal force exerted on the cutting wire by a handle assembly or other control mechanism that is used to longitudinally move the cutting wire within the tubular member and the collet. |
