A printing apparatus includes a replaceable set tray on which a target printing material is set, an ink discharge unit which prints by discharging ink according to printing data onto the target printing material, a storage unit which stores the type of set tray specified in the printing data when printing is performed, a detection unit which detects the type of set tray, and a control unit which controls the tray detection operation. The tray detection operation is performed by the detection unit before printing starts and detects the type of set tray when necessary. The control unit compares the type of set tray specified in newly acquired printing data and the type of set tray stored in the storage unit. When the types are different, the tray detection operation is performed. When the types are the same, the tray detection operation is omitted. |

A recording apparatus includes a movable belt that includes thereon a first area, which is an area on which a recording target medium to be transported is placed, along a direction of transporting the recording target medium, and that includes thereon a second area, which is an area on which the recording target medium is placed, along the direction of transporting the recording target medium; a driving mechanism that drives the movable belt; a recording mechanism that is capable of recording within a range formed by the first area and the second area; a cleaning mechanism that performs cleaning of the first area and the second area on the movable belt; and a controller that, when conducting recording on the recording target medium, performs control of the recording mechanism so as to cause the recording mechanism to record a verification image, which enables verification as to whether or not there is any ejection failure of ink, on the second area. |

A liquid ejecting head includes: a plurality of pressure generating chambers communicating with nozzles through which a liquid is ejected; a manifold communicating with the plurality of pressure generating chambers; a flexible member that has a surface on one side which defines at least a part of a wall of the manifold, that has a surface on the other side, on which an adhesive layer is formed, and that has a compliance region, which is able to perform deflection in response to pressure fluctuation in the manifold, in a region in which the adhesive layer is formed; a compliance space disposed on a side opposite to the manifold through the flexible member; a cap member facing the flexible member through the compliance space; and a frame-like member that is disposed between the flexible member and the cap member and has a cantilever, in which the cantilever is fixed to at least a part of the flexible member of the compliance region and has an unfixed region which is not fixed to the cap member on the distal end side thereof. |
