An example welding-type system may include a wire feeder controller configured for controlling wire feeding functions in the welding-type system, with the wire feeder controller including a power converter. The power converter may use a circuit topology that includes a transformer-based DC-to-DC converter circuit and an output circuit. The transformer-based DC-to-DC converter circuit may have an input circuit and a modulation circuit, with the modulation circuit including a transformer, with the transformer-based DC-to-DC converter circuit configured to not provide galvanic isolation in the output circuit. |
