The present disclosure generally relates to a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) dressing (100) configured to be connected to a negative pressure source; the NPWT dressing comprising, from top-to-bottom, a backing layer (101), a liquid spreading layer (102), an absorbent pad (103) comprising one or a plurality of pad-forming layers (103a-c), a spacer fabric layer (104), and an adhesive skin contact layer (105); the backing layer (101) and the adhesive skin contact layer (105) being arranged to extend beyond the contour of the liquid spreading layer (102), the absorbent pad (103) and the spacer fabric layer (104) to form a border portion (106), wherein the spacer fabric layer (104) comprises a top layer (104a), a bottom layer (104b) and an interconnecting layer (104c) arranged between the top layer (104a) and the bottom layer (104b); the interconnecting layer (104c) comprising a plurality of pile filaments (107) extending between the top layer (104a) and the bottom layer (104b), wherein the top layer (104a) of the spacer fabric layer (104) is defined by peripheral edges, and wherein at least one of the liquid spreading layer (102) and said pad-forming layer(s) (103a-c) of the absorbent pad (103) is arranged to overlap the peripheral edges of the top layer (104a) of the spacer fabric layer (104).The present disclosure also relates to a system comprising the NPWT dressing and to a method for manufacturing the NPWT dressing. |

Zusammenfassung
An apparatus and related aspects for providing negative pressure to a wound site are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a source of negative pressure configured to provide negative pressure via a first fluid flow path from an inlet of the source of negative pressure to a wound site, and an electronically controllable valve configured to release negative pressure from the wound site via a second fluid flow path. The apparatus further comprises a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure level in the second fluid flow path, and control circuitry operatively connected to the source of negative pressure, the electronically controllable valve, and the pressure sensor. The control circuitry is configured to open the electronically controllable valve, and in response to a pressure change rate being above a pressure change rate value, output a signal indicative of a blockage in the second fluid flow path. The control circuitry is further configured to in response to the pressure change rate being below the pressure change rate value, close the electronically controllable valve and activate the source of negative pressure, and in response to the pressure level, as measured by the pressure sensor, being non-responsive to a change in negative pressure generated while the source of negative pressure is active, output a signal indicative of a blockage in the first fluid flow path. |
