One embodiment provides a system that facilitates selective encryption of bit groups of a message. During operation, the system determines, by a content requesting device or content producing device, a message that includes a plurality of bit groups, each corresponding to a type, a length, and a set of values, wherein one or more bit groups are marked for encryption, and wherein the message indicates a name that is a hierarchically structured variable-length identifier comprising contiguous name components ordered from a most general level to a most specific level. The system computes a plurality of cipher blocks for the message based on an authenticated encryption protocol. The system encrypts the one or more bit groups marked for encryption based on one or more symmetric keys, wherein the marked bit groups include one or more name components. Subsequently, the system indicates the encrypted bit groups as encrypted. |

Embodiments of the present invention provide a time- and space-efficient system for representing and searching a set of intervals to find all the intervals that overlap with a given query interval or point. A new structure called an interval hash table is introduced to significantly reduce the average search time, thereby improving computing and search technology. During operation, the system obtains data indicating a set of intervals to be hashed. The system divides a respective interval into a set of sub-intervals based on a locality-preserving hashing. The system then obtains a hash code associated with a respective sub-interval, and inserts the respective sub-interval into an interval hash table at a location corresponding to the hash code. The system may further search the interval hash table. |

Zusammenfassung
A transient electronic device utilizes a glass-based interposer that is treated using ion-exchange processing to increase its fragility, and includes a trigger device operably mounted on a surface thereof. An integrated circuit (IC) die is then bonded to the interposer, and the interposer is mounted to a package structure where it serves, under normal operating conditions, to operably connect the IC die to the package I/O pins/balls. During a transient event (e.g., when unauthorized tampering is detected), a trigger signal is transmitted to the trigger device, causing the trigger device to generate an initial fracture force that is applied onto the glass-based interposer substrate. The interposer is configured such that the initial fracture force propagates through the glass-based interposer substrate with sufficient energy to both entirely powderize the interposer, and to transfer to the IC die, whereby the IC die also powderizes (i.e., visually disappears). |

During operation, the system generates, by a client computing device, a first interest for a key indicated in a signed key catalog. The system generates a second interest for a content object, wherein a name for the second interest includes a name prefix associated with the key as indicated in the catalog, wherein the first interest is transmitted before or concurrent with transmitting the second interest.
