There is described a forming assembly (10b) for forming a plurality of sealed packs (3) starting from a tube (2) of packaging material, comprising first conveying means (15b) movable along a first path (Q) comprising: a first operative branch (Q1), which has a main elongation direction parallel to an advancing direction (A) of the tube (2); and a first return branch (Q2) comprising an initial portion (35b) which is arranged immediately downstream of the operative branch (Q1) and extends transversally to the advancing direction (A); first conveying means (14b, 15b, 14b') comprise one of a sealing element (22b) or a counter-sealing element (22a); and a first half-shell (21b), which is movable along the operative branch (Q1) between: a first rest position, in which it is detached from the tube (2) or the formed pack (3); and a first operative position, in which it grips the tube (2) or the formed pack (3); the first half-shell (21b) is arranged in the first operative position along a first portion (34b) of the first operative branch (Q1); the first half-shell (21b) is kept in the first operative position along an initial portion (35b), so as to grip and convey the pack (3) in a staggered position with respect to the advancing direction (A); and moves, from the first operative position to the rest position at an end (36b) of the initial portion (35b) opposite to the first portion (34b), so as to discharge the pack (3) in a staggered position with respect to the advancing direction (A). |

There is described a packaging unit (1) for producing sealed packages containing a pourable food product from a tube (2) of packaging material advanced along a first axis (A); the packaging unit (1) comprises: at least two jaws (10, 11) arranged on opposite sides of the first axis (A) and movable between a closed position, in which they grip and seal said tube (2) of packaging material at one of a plurality of equally spaced cross sections, and an open position, in which they are detached from the tube (2); at least two forming members (15) supported by the respective jaws (10, 11) in a movable manner between a first operating position, in which, in relation to the position of the jaws (10, 11), they have the maximum distance from one another, and a second operating position, in which, in relation to the closed position of the jaws (10, 11), they mate with one another and cooperate with the tube (2); and actuator means (20) to produce movement of the forming members (15) between the first operating position and the second operating position; the actuator means (20) comprise at least one mover (21) connected to both forming members (15) in any position of the jaws (10, 11) and selectively activated to perform opposite strokes, along which the mover (21) itself produces the movement of each forming members (15) in opposite directions. |

The packaging material (200) comprises at least one base layer (230) for imparting stiffness to the sheet packaging material (200), at least one lamination layer (234, 238, 242, 246) applied to and covering said base layer (230), and a partially laminated opening zone (204, 234). The opening zone (204, 234) comprises a laminated cutting area (220, 224) having at least three longitudinal portions (220) extending between the centre and the periphery of the opening zone (204, 234), and at least three removable portions (212) adjacent to the laminated cutting area (220, 224), each removable portion (212) being located between two longitudinal portions (220) and having a folding zone (216) adjacent to the periphery of the opening zone (204, 234). In use the removable portions (212) are partly detached from the packaging material (200) by penetration of the laminated cutting area (220, 224) prior to being folded at the folding zone (216) to form an opening in the packaging material (200) for pouring a food product from the package (100). A sealed package (100) formed by folding and sealing the sheet packaging material is also disclosed. |
