Zusammenfassung
A mask-based diagnostic apparatus is provided for detecting a biomarker contained in exhaled breath of a test subject. An exhaled breath condensate (EBC) collector converts breath vapor received from the lungs and airways of the test subject into a fluid biosample. The EBC collector including a thermal mass, a condensate-forming surface and a fluid conductor disposed on the condensate-forming surface. A fluid transfer system receives the fluid biosample from the EBC collector. A biomarker testing unit receives the fluid biosample from the fluid transfer system and tests the fluid biosample for a target biomarker. A testing system support is provided for supporting the EBC collector, the fluid transfer system and the biomarker testing unit. The testing system support is configured and dimensioned to fit inside a face mask. A face mask is provided forming an exhaled breath vapor containment volume to hold the exhaled breath vapor in proximity to the EBC collector to enable the condensate-forming surface cooled by the thermal mass to coalesce the exhaled breath vapor into the fluid biosample. |

Disclosed herein are systems for imaging of samples, for example, using an array of micro optical elements and methods of their use. In some embodiments, an optical chip comprising an array of micro optical elements moves relative to an imaging window and a detector in order to scan over a sample to produce an image. A focal plane can reside within a sample or on its surface during imaging. In some embodiments, detecting optics are used to detect back-emitted light collected by an array of micro optical elements that is generated by an illumination beam impinging on a sample. In some embodiments, an imaging system has a large field of view and a large optical chip such that an entire surface of a sample can be imaged quickly. In some embodiments, a sample is accessible by a user during imaging due to the sample being exposed. |

Zusammenfassung
A system that executes a process for mapping cardiac fibrillation and optimizing ablation treatments. The process, in some embodiments, includes: positioning a two dimensional electrode array to several locations in a patient's heart and at each location, obtaining a conduction velocity and a cycle length measurement from at least two local signals in response to electrical activity in the cardiac tissue. In some embodiments, a regional wavelength is calculated by multiplying the local conduction velocity with the local minimum cycle length. The system can then create a wavelength distribution map that identifies the location of the drivers in the heart. In certain embodiments, the system uses variability of conduction velocity and cycle length in an area to determine the driver type. In some embodiments, the system calculates average distance of drivers to non-conductive tissue boundaries. The system then selects ablation placements that maximize treatment efficacy while minimizing tissue damage. |
