An aerodynamic vehicle and fairing are described. In implementations, the fairing may include a forward arcuate edge, a rearward edge, and an outward surface bounded by the forward arcuate edge and the rearward edge. The rearward edge is arranged opposite to the forward edge across a center of the outward surface and is offset relative to the forward arcuate edge in a normal direction of the outward surface. The outward surface curves from the forward arcuate edge to the rearward edge in the normal direction and forms a depression extending opposite to the normal direction. The depression is formed at least in part by the rearward edge.

According to an embodiment of a present disclosure, a method for detecting fare evasion comprising: estimating positions of passengers within a detection area or trajectories of the passengers within the detection area based on image information, estimating positions of devices within the detection area or trajectories of the devices within the detection area based on wireless signals, determining whether the passengers and the devices match by comparing the positions of the passengers with the positions of the devices or comparing the trajectories of the passengers with the trajectories of the devices and determining fare-evading passengers among the passengers based on the matching result.

Systems and methods for cavitation prevention on piston sleeves of an internal combustion (IC) engine are disclosed. An exemplary IC engine includes an engine block including one or more cylinders, and at least one piston sleeve is installed into a respective one of the one or more cylinders, where each piston sleeve receives a corresponding piston. Further, the IC engine includes at least one coolant passageway at least partially formed in the engine block. Furthermore, the IC engine includes at last one cavity formed in the engine block, each of the at least cavity being associated with a respective one of the at least one piston sleeve where the at least one cavity is in fluid communication with the at least one coolant passageway.

Impact absorption systems (30, 60) for a charger port (29) are described herein. In aspects, the impact absorption system (30, 60) includes a top cover portion (26) having a first side and a second side and an impact absorption mechanism (31, 61) coupled to the first side of the top cover portion (26). The top cover portion (26) is configured to cover at least a first part of the charger port (29). The top cover portion (26) and the impact absorption mechanism (31, 61) are configured to shift at least partially in a first direction in response to a load applied to the second side of the top cover portion (26). The impact absorption systems (30, 60) disclosed herein can help absorb, dissipate, and/or distribute loads caused by an operator stepping on the cover of the charger port, thus helping to reduce degradation of enclosed components.

A system may include a catalyst positioned in a flow path coupling a hydrogen storage tank to a hydrogen consumer, the catalyst configured to convert hydrogen fuel from a para state to an ortho state via an endothermic reaction. The system may further include a coolant circuit configured to circulate coolant through the hydrogen consumer and a coolant-fed heat exchanger configured to thermally couple the coolant in the coolant circuit to the hydrogen fuel, the coolant-fed heat exchanger arranged upstream of the hydrogen consumer in the flow path.
