A transcritical heating system for providing heat to a heating medium includes a controller and a heat pump. The heat pump includes a working fluid characterized by a critical pressure and a critical temperature, a compressor configured to compress the working fluid above its critical pressure and temperature, a first heat exchanger (HX) in fluid communication with the compressor and with a closed medium flow circuit, a high-pressure valve, and an evaporator for cooling the working fluid. The controller is in communication with the heat pump in order to regulate a temperature of the heating medium in the closed medium flow circuit. The system may also include a second heat exchanger in fluid communication with the first HX and with an open medium flow circuit. |

A method of controlling the streaming of content to a client (300) from a content source (100) using a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) protocol, the method comprising, at an intermediate device (200) located between the content source (100) and the client (300): receiving a manifest file (310) from the content source (100) in response to a request from the client (300) and editing the received manifest file (310) before delivering it to the client (300), the manifest file (310) including at least one Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) identifying a content element, characterized in that the method further comprises: maintaining, at the intermediate device (200), a local cache (210) of previously obtained segments of the content element; augmenting the manifest file (310) with information from a previously stored version of a manifest for the same content element, retrieved from a memory (230), that includes older segment references not present in the received manifest file (310), so as to extend an available timeshift duration beyond the timeshift depth visible in the received manifest; removing, from the augmented manifest, outdated periods (320) and segment references within a SegmentTimeline (350) whose end times precede a selected cutoff, thereby pruning obsolete content while preserving a continuous timeline of available segments; cleaning the augmented manifest by removing all BaseURL elements, performing SegmentTemplate inheritance for representations (340), and substituting original media and initialization segment references with relative URL placeholders that refer to the locally cached segments in the local cache (210); and updating manifest attributes, including a timeShiftBufferDepth attribute and UTCTiming elements (311), to signal to the client (300) that a locally extended timeshift buffer is available, thereby enabling the client (300) to access historical segments beyond the timeshift depth initially provided by the content source (100). |

The present invention pertains to the computer implemented method for identifying a microorganism in a blood comprising: receiving (101) a microscopic image of a blood smear; detecting (102) plurality of microorganism cells in the microscopic image using a deep learning cellular segmentation model; extracting (103) from the segmented microscopic image a patch of size HxW centred around a centroid of the detected microorganism cell for each detected microorganism cell; encoding (104) of each patch by a deep neural network encoding model into a patch representation vector un of size 1×D; aggregating (105) the patch representation vectors u<n> using a pooling method to generate a sample representation vector u of size 1×D; and indicating (106) a species of microorganism present in the microscopic image by classifying the sample representation vector u by a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) classifier to class representing specific species. In another aspect the invention relates to the data processing system for carrying out the steps of the method according to the invention. |

A light-guide optical element (LOE) for simultaneous viewing, of a real scene and of a projected image introduced into the LOE, having a transparent block along which light conveying a projected image propagates by internal reflection, and a plurality of internal partially reflecting surfaces obliquely oriented and configured so as to couple-out a part of said light, wherein the reflectance of each of the partially reflecting surfaces is such that the total power of the light that is coupled out is less than one third of the total power of the light that is introduced into the LOE. In some embodiments, the light of the projected image is polarized and the reflectance of the partially reflecting surfaces for light polarized in an orthogonal orientation is substantially reduced. In some embodiments, the reflectance of the partially reflecting surfaces for light not reaching the viewer is substantially reduced. |
