A pneumatic delivery system for transporting at least one package (B1, B2, B3) in a flow direction comprises a passage system, a sending station (11, 12, 13), an arrival station (21, 22, 23). The passage system comprises a first transit station (100) comprising a first chamber (130) and a first compressor (140). The passage system comprises at least one further transit station (200) arranged between said first transit station and said arrival station, comprising a further chamber (230) and a further compressor (240). The first compressor is configured for selectively sucking air for pulling the package in flow direction and discharging air for pushing the package further in flow direction and/or the further compressor is configured for selectively sucking air for pulling the package in flow direction and discharging air for pushing the package further in flow direction. The invention also refers to a method for operating the system.

A method and system for distilling alcohol in an alcohol production process utilizes mechanical vapor recompression (MVR), by way of an MVR device, such as to improve vacuum distillation column capacity. The MVR device is used as a way to increase vapor pressure/density and reduce vapor volume providing for increased volumetric flowrate and thereby increasing the capacity of a distillation system. In particular, the MVR takes a low value waste heat from stillage evaporators and compresses it to a higher temperature/pressure to create useful energy. By raising the pressure in the beer column with an MVR device, the vapor density increases, vapor volume decreases, and vapor velocity increases so that more vapor can be fed to and through the beer column. That is, additional mass flow can be added to the stillage evaporators and beer column to return the overall vapor velocity at the beer column to the original velocity constraint point. As such, the throughput of the beer column can be increased until it reaches its original velocity design constraint.

A storage system (20; 300) for storing loads (32) held by carriers (30; 330) has a plurality of uprights (46; 346) and a plurality of carrier supports (66; 366) mounted to the uprights. A plurality of flooring levels, one above another, are supported by the plurality of uprights and form a first bank (552A) and a second bank (552B) with a divide (550) between. A plurality of bridges (570) have deployed conditions spanning the divide and stowed conditions not spanning the divide. Shifting the plurality of bridges (570) between the deployed conditions and the stowed conditions engages or disengages a switch or triggers or untriggers a sensor. The engaging or disengaging a switch or triggering or untriggering a sensor causes a control system to route a wheeled automated vehicle driving around a stowed bridge.

The present specification discloses a novel composition for preventing or treating retinal diseases. In one aspect, compounds in the present invention are extremely effective in protecting cells against the cytotoxicity of all-trans-retinal, inhibiting cellular aging, and inhibiting intracellular reactive oxygen species, and thus can be used in therapeutic agents for retinal diseases such as hereditary macular degeneration and age-related macular degeneration.
