A computer implemented method of configuring an engine diagnostic system is provided. The method comprises determining a set of diagnostic monitors available within the engine diagnostic system; determining for each monitor, one or more desired functions to be performed following a detection event from the monitor and a function identifier associated with the or each desired function; if the function identifier is not supported by the engine diagnostic system, determining an equivalent function identifier, the equivalent function identifier being equivalent to the desired function identifier and is supported by the engine diagnostic system; and configuring the engine diagnostic system using the equivalent function identifier. |

The second entity may transmit the requested weather data to the first entity in response to receiving the request. In some examples, the second entity only transmits the weather data to the first entity only in response to receiving a specific request for the weather data. Conversely, the first entity may only receive the weather data from the second entity in response to transmitting a request for the weather data. |
