Zusammenfassung
The present invention solves the fogging problem of photoelectric linear and rotary encoders used near or below the dew point temperature by coating the complex surface of their optical scales and scanning reticles with hydrophilic diamond-like carbon (DLC) films. These DLC films also increase the scratch and wear resistance of the scales and reticles, thus extending the service life of the encoders. The non-fogging optical scale or scanning reticle contains an optically smooth glass substrate, a lithographically defined micrometer-scale reflective metal pattern on the one glass surface, and a transparent hydrophilic DLC film with a thickness of 30-350 nm grown at least on the one surface. The invention provides a non-fogging optical scale/reticle device and a method capable of easily manufacturing the device. |

This invention discloses a method and device for generating short-wavelength radiation (8), in particular extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and X-ray light. The burst (4) of light pulses is generated by a near-matched length regenerative amplifier (2) and master oscillator (1) pair. A sequence of light pulses (burst) (4) with a picosecond to the nanosecond time separation between the pulses and/or microsecond time separation between the burst packets (4) are generated out of the regenerative amplifier (2) cavity. The generated pulse sequence (4) acts as a pre-pulse and main pulse pair which is delivered to the target (7). The high-intensity laser radiation beam (3) interaction with generated plasma leads to the generated short-wavelength output (8) measured (9) as a photon flux. |

The present invention solves a problem of back-reflections from a digital micromirror device (DMD) and optical path allignment when a DMD device is used in confocal microscopy to generate multiple spots on a sample (sample), as well as to act as an array of pinholes for registering the light reflected from the sample (sample). The working area of a single DMD devixe is split into two separate parts of the DMD working surface area, which are independently controlled: one part (illumination part) is used to generate an array of spots, while the second part (detection part) is used to act as an array of pinholes directing the light reflected from the sample (sample) to the image registering device (camera). Such spatial separation of the two parts of the DMD prevents the back-reflection from DMD reaching a detector or the image registering device (camera). Furthermore, using a single DMD device (DMD) for both light beam paths allows perfect allignment of the optical layout and light beam paths, thereby, implementing the confocal microscopy function more simply and efficiently. |

The invention belongs to the field of ultrasonic measurements and systems. It discloses a method, device, and system for ultrasonic estimation of a plant-leaf (2) physiological response and its change due to environmental stimuli, for example, characterizing lack of irrigation. In contrast to known solutions using a single, short broadband ultrasound pulse, the present invention employs spread spectrum signals, for example, Arbitrary Position and Width Pulses Spread Spectrum (APWP SS) signals, frequency-modulated ("chirp") or coded sequences, to achieve a sufficient measurement SNR, for practically feasible estimation of important physiological leaf (2) characteristics such as such as relative water potential RWC, turgor loss, turgor pressure, water potential. The invention solves in the time domain the inverse problem of the best matching of the recorded ultrasonic measurement signal to the leaf (2) model essential parameters: thickness, density, ultrasound propagation velocity, and attenuation. This invention enables robust measuring of leaf (2) responses in disturbed conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure changes, etc.) in field conditions, and is practical for use by agriculture specialists and farmers. |

This invention discloses an oriented triplex dosimetry sensor (1) composed of three layers, namely, the photo-sensor made of large-resistivity semiconductor bulk-plate (4) pasted to the intermediate alanine layer (3), where radiation induced free radicals are detected by EPR technique, which is agglutinated further to a GaN scintillator (2) (Fig. 1), wherein (2), (3) and (4) layers of the triplex sensor are sequentially scanned by the spectrophotometer, the EPR scanner and the microwave detection system, where particle discrimination and fluence measurements are performed by correlating signals of the scintillator spectrum structure, the EPR signal amplitude and the photoconductivity decay lifetime, while depth variations of the accumulated dose serve for estimation of the radiation streamline. These small dimension triplex sensors can be composed into 1D cells comprising several face-to-face and in line deployed triplex sensors, while triplex sensor structures oriented in perpendicular directions are applicable for estimation of location of the radiation source. |
