This present invention relates to novel uses for mesenchymal stem cells, in particular to the use of mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of autoinflammatory skin disease hidradenitis suppurativa. Preferably, allogeneic human placenta mesenchymal stem cells are used, that can be administered topically and/or by intravenous, intraarterial, intralesional or subcutaneous administration. In some embodiments, the mesenchymal stem cells are used in combination with another therapeutic agent.

The present disclosure provides sensor units that can be used to measure the actual radiation dose during brachytherapy or external radiation, as well as a reading device for the sensor units. In particular, a sensor unit comprises a hollow tubular body and a polymer hydrogel filling. The hollow tubular body of the sensor unit may have a circular cross-section shape or a rectangular cross-section shape. Depending on the shape of the sensor unit, various uses of the sensor unit to measure radiation dose inside or outside the body are possible.

The invention is considered to be a part of the technology of pre-treatment devices, in which gas contaminated with fine and ultrafine particulate matter is subjected to an adapted electric field, causing the particles to agglomerate - that is, to form coarser formations - with part of them being deposited. The objective is achieved by the use of a bipolar electric cold plasma field unit in the primary zone of the dual-zone working chamber, a multilayer plate modular cartridge consisting of electrically connected modules (8) of identical structure with symmetrically configured rectangular interlayers. Each module is symmetrically shielded on both sides, and the designed internal (10) and external (14) air gaps allow for the parallel movement of the contaminated gas flow. A method and apparatus for scanning probe-based surface characterization is disclosed which allows high scanning velocities and data throughput and is suitable for large samples. A combination of rotational and linear translation is used for scanning the probe by concentric circle or spiral trajectories in overlapping ring patterns. A method and apparatus for rapid control of tilt-related probe-sample separation distance and suitable for such scanning pattern is described.

Disclosed herein is a thin 2D movable flexible antenna for energy harvesting and power supply for wireless autonomous sensor nodes or other electronic circuitry integrated into belts of production conveyors. Also disclosed herein is a method of integration of 2D flexible antennas in flat segments of conveyor bands, providing a high gain for the latter, the value of which becomes comparable with the stiff 3D antennas.
