A process for reducing the amount of feed gas A in a void volume of solid particles S, whereby solid particles D are obtained, in a reactor, wherein a reaction is carried out, the reactor having a start and an end, wherein the start is preferably a top (T) and the end is preferably a bottom (B) of the reactor, a feed gas inlet A, a gas outlet, a solid particle inlet and a solid particle outlet, the process comprising displacement of at least a part of the feed gas A in the void volume of the solid particles S with a gas B different from said feed gas A, wherein the displacement is carried out by addition of the gas B at the end, preferably at the bottom of the reactor between the feed gas inlet A and the solid particle outlet, wherein the solid particles D are discharged at the bottom of the reactor via a solid particle outlet, or the displacement is carried out by addition of the gas B to a vessel, wherein the solid particles S are collected in the vessel, the vessel being connected with the solid particle outlet at the start, preferably at the top and/or at the end, preferably at the bottom of the reactor;andto a reactor (R) for a reaction of a feed gas A in the presence of solid particles P, preferably a pyrolysis, more preferably a methane pyrolysis, wherein solid particles S are obtained comprising feed gas A in its void volume, the reactor having a start and an end, wherein the start is preferably a top (T) and the end is preferably a bottom (B) and a solid particle outlet at the end, preferably at the bottom and/or at the start, preferably at the top of the reactor, preferably at the end, more preferably at the bottom, a feed gas inlet A, a gas outlet, and a solid particle inlet, and having either an inlet B for a gas B for displacement of the feed gas A in the void volume of said solid particles S for obtaining solid particles D having a reduced amount of feed gas A in a void volume, at the end, preferably at the bottom of the reacfor between the feed gas inlet A and the solid particle outlet, or having an inlet C for a gas B for displacement of the feed gas A in the void volume of said solid particles S for obtaining solid particles D having a reduced amount of feed gas A in a void volume in a vessel, wherein the solid particles S are collected in the vessel, the vessel being connected with the solid particle outlet at the start, preferably at the top and/or at the end, preferably at the bottom of the reactor. |

A process for obtaining a product gas from a feed gas in a moving bed reactor, the reactor having a top and a bottom and comprising between the top and the bottom an upper heat integration zone, a lower heat integration zone, and a reaction zone located between the upper and the lower heat integration zone, wherein a plurality of solid material particles and feed gas are counter-currently driven, wherein the plurality of solid material particles is introduced at the top at an inlet and passes through the reactor in the direction of gravity, wherein the process comprises a continuous measurement of the temperature at the top of the reactor and/or a continuous measurement of the temperature at the bottom of the reactor, and adjusting the mass flow of the plurality of solid material particles at the outlet at the bottom of the reactor and/or at the inlet at the top of the reactor and/or adjusting the mass flow of the feed gas at the inlet at the bottom of the reactor depending on the temperature measured by the continuous measurement of the temperature at the top of the reactor and/or the continuous measurement of the temperature at the bottom of the reactor; a moving bed reactor for carrying out said process; and a method for stabilizing the position of the reaction zone in a moving bed reactor in said process or in said reactor. |

The invention relates to a process for determining process changes in a multiple-phase flow in an apparatus, comprising:(a) obtaining data by capturing measured values by measuring structure-borne sound in the apparatus at different positions on an outer shell of the apparatus and optionally processing the measured values;(b) comparing the data obtained in step (a) with stored data or feeding the data obtained in step (a) into a machine learning classification method which was taught with data obtained by capturing measured values by measuring the structure-borne sound and optionally processing the measured values and connected operation conditions; and(c) providing a signal, if a deviation between the data obtained in step (a) and the stored data exceeds a predefined threshold value or if a process change is detected by the machine learning classification method. |

A pre-catalyst thermally convertible into a catalyst for producing phthalic anhydride by gas-phase catalytic oxidation of ortho-xylene and/or naphthalene with a molecular oxygen-containing gas comprises a support body, and coated on the support body, a coating composition. The coating composition comprises titanium dioxide; vanadium pentoxide or a vanadium compound thermally convertible to vanadium pentoxide; a binder polymer selected from polyvinyl esters, polyvinyl ester alkylene copolymers and polymers and copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and/or maleic acid, and salts and esters thereof; and a hydrophilic polymer selected from polyalkylene oxides, polyvinyl alcohol and starch. A catalyst obtained by thermal treatment of the pre-catalyst of the invention allows for a high yield and high selectivity in the production of phthalic anhydride. |
