The invention relates to a method for controlling a heating or cooling system (1) comprising a heat exchanger (3), a valve (4) arranged to control the flow of a heating or cooling fluid through the heat exchanger (3), at least one temperature sensor (5, 9) arranged to measure a temperature response to a change in the opening degree of the valve (4), a control unit (8) arranged to control the opening degree of the valve (4) as well as to receive temperature measurements from the at least one temperature sensor (5, 9). Task of the invention is to provide an improved control method for such a heating or cooling system (1). According to the invention the task is solved by a method comprising the steps: a) the control unit (8) stores at least one working point comprising an opening degree of the valve (4) and a corresponding expected temperature, b) the control unit (8) provides a chosen working point to the valve (4), c) after a working point has been used for a predetermined time period the at least one temperature sensor (5, 9) provides a temperature measurement to the control unit (8), d) if the measured temperature does not match the expected temperature derived from the working point, the control unit (8) adapts the currently used working point by changing the stored opening degree. |

The method comprises controlling a compressor unit (2) in order to adjust a pressure inside a receiver (6), on the basis of a detected pressure of refrigerant leaving an evaporator (8). The portion of refrigerant leaving the evaporator (8) which is supplied to a secondary inlet (15) of the ejector is maximised and the portion of refrigerant supplied directly to the compressor unit (2) is minimised, while ensuring that the pressure of refrigerant leaving the evaporator (8) does not decrease below an acceptable level. |

The present invention relate to a heating and/or cooling system with a fluid circuit including a fluid inlet line and fluid outlet line connected to a heat exchanger, a temperature sensor measuring a fluid temperature T, wherein the fluid inlet or outlet line includes a first valve and a second valve positioned in respectively a first and second parallel sub-lines forming a split section, and where the first and second valves are controlled according to input from a controller and operating with first V1 and second V2 valve openings respectively, where said controller is adapted to operate according to maintain said measured fluid temperature T to be within a normal temperature span, defined as a minimum temperature T1min and a maximum temperature T1max, by changing settings of said first and second valves, where the controller is adapted to change the valve opening V1 of the first valve in response to the measured temperature T, and to change the valve opening V2 of the second valve in response to the first valve opening V1 gets above a maximum opening V1max or below a minimum opening V1min.The present invention further relates to the method operating such valves. |

An expansion valve (2) for a vapour compression system (1) and a vapour compression system (1) are disclosed. The expansion valve (1) comprises a valve element (9), a valve seat (13) as well as a biasing member (12). The valve element (9) and the valve seat (13) are arranged in a first fluid passage (6) of the expansion valve (2). The expansion valve (2) further comprises a shape memory alloy actuator (17) that exerts a force on the valve element towards an open valve position when the shape memory alloy actuator is heated by an electric current. The object of the invention is to provide an expansion valve for a vapour compression system of the above type that maybe controlled externally but is also self-regulating. To this end the shape memory alloy actuator (17) is arranged in a second fluid passage (7) of the expansion valve (2), wherein the shape memory alloy actuator (17) is arranged to be in thermal contact with the fluid in the second fluid passage (7), such that the shape memory alloy actuator also actuates the valve element (9) towards a closed valve position when the shape memory actuator (17) is cooled by the fluid in the second fluid passage (7). |
