The invention refers to a service discovery method for activating an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) device comprising: Initiating at least one device comprising an eSIM; connecting the device to at least one of an entry point of a Mobile Network Operator and a designated entitlement configuration server, using an entitlement configuration for automatically activating the eSIM via the connection to the entitlement configuration server and connecting the eSIM with a data service or a data network of the Mobile Network Operator based on the entitlement of designated use-cases, whereby the device and the entitlement configuration server validate parameters and/or methodologies for the entitlement configuration. The invention further relates to a system for an eSIM entitlement, comprising at least one device with an eSIM, at least one entry point of a data service or a data network of a Mobile Network Operator and a designated entitlement configuration server connected to the entry point, whereby the entitlement of the eSIM is implemented between the device and the designated entitlement configuration server using the inventive service discovery method. |

The invention relates to a method for operating a user equipment within or as part of a telecommunications network, wherein the operation of the user equipment involves the operation of an application or an application layer functionality of the user equipment, wherein the telecommunications network comprises or is associated or assigned to an access network and to a core network, wherein the core network provides the user equipment with data connectivity towards a data network,wherein the operation of the application or of the application layer functionality of the user equipment requires at least one data transmission session to be established between the user equipment and the core network such that downlink data packets are able to be transmitted from or via the core network to the user equipment and uplink data packets are able to be transmitted from the user equipment to or via the core network,wherein, in order for downlink data packets, directed or related to the application or the application layer functionality, being able to form an application-specific downlink application flow, and uplink data packets, originating from the application or the application layer functionality, being able to form an application-specific uplink application flow, the method comprises the following steps:-- in a first step, at least one piece of application-specific identifier information is assigned to the application or the application layer functionality,-- in a second step, the application or the application layer functionality is operated using the at least one data transmission session, wherein both the downlink data packets and the uplink data packets comprise at least part of the at least one piece of application-specific identifier information. |

Zusammenfassung
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und ein IP-Kommunikationssystem (10, 50) zum Wechseln von Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanzen (11, 13; 51, 53) ohne Neuregistrierung von Endteilnehmern (30; 70), die zuvor an einem IP-basierten Kommunikationssystem unter Anwendung eines IP-basierten Signalisierungsprotokolls registriert werden. Eine Neuregistrierung wenigstens eines Endteilnehmers (30, 70) kann bei Ausfall einer Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanz (11, 51), die dem Endteilnehmer (30, 70) primär zugeordnet ist, verhindert werden, indem eine bereits bestehende gültige Registrierung des wenigstens einen Endteilnehmers (30, 70) auch bei einem Wechsel der ausgefallenen Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanz (11, 51) auf eine Ersatz-Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanz (13, 53) weiterhin benutzt werden kann. Hierzu werden nach einer erfolgreichen Authentifizierung der Endteilnehmer (30, 70) endteilnehmerbezogene Registrierungsdaten in einer gemeinsam genutzten Datenbank (12, 52), die zumindest wirksam mit dem IP-basierten Kommunikationssystem (10, 50) verbunden ist, gespeichert. Auf die endteilnehmerbezogenen Registrierungsdaten kann nach Ausfall der primären Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanz (11, 51) die Ersatz-Verbindungs-Steuerungsinstanz (13, 53) zugreifen. |
