A weed control method for an autonomous work device is proposed, wherein the autonomous work device comprises driving means configured to move the autonomous work device in an outdoor environment. The autonomous work device further comprises sensor means configured to sense an environment of the autonomous work device and to generate a sensor signal based on the sensed environment, and a control circuit configured to control the driving means to navigate the autonomous work device in the environment based on the sensor signal. The weed control method comprises a step of obtaining a location of a target plant in the environment. The control circuit controls the driving means in a weed suppression mode, to position at least one wheel of the driving means on the computed location of the target plant and to perform a predetermined movement pattern of the autonomous work device while simultaneously maintaining the at least one wheel in an area at the location of the target plant. |

The present disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method for learning operators for planning a behavior of an autonomous device. The method comprises obtaining a set of training data D including observations of a plurality of skills executable by the autonomous device in an interaction with at least one entity for addressing a first task. The method further includes obtaining a predetermined set of data defining a hierarchy of entities including the at least one entity. The method proceeds by learning a set of individual skills based on the obtained set of training data D, generating a set of generalized skills by generalizing the learned set of individual skills based on the predetermined set of data that defining a hierarchy of entities. The method then performs behavior planning of the autonomous device for addressing a second task different from the first task based on the generalized set of skills. An assistance system performs a method for providing information to an assisted person using speech output. The system comprises at least one sensor for acoustically sensing an environment, in which the assistance system and the assisted person are located. The system further comprises a processor that is configured to analyze a sensor output from the at least one sensor. The processor estimates a potential interference of an intended speech output with the sensed acoustic environment in the common environment on the basis of the analysis result. Additionally, the processor obtains information on an assisted person's hearing capacity and determines an expected intelligibility of speech output on the basis of the estimated interference and the obtained information on the assisted person's hearing capacity.The system further comprises a speech output signal generation unit. The speech presentation signal generation unit generates a speech presentation signal in accordance with the determined modality for intended speech presentation. The speech output signal is then supplied at least to a loudspeaker or hearing aid for outputting the speech output including the information to be provided to the user. |

A method for assisting a driver of an ego-vehicle in making use of a gap between vehicles to enter a traffic flow at an intersection is suggested, comprising the following method steps: First, other vehicles (2, 3, 4) in the environment of the ego-vehicle (1) are physically sensed using at least one environment sensor (10) mounted on the ego-vehicle (1). Second, a gap size (g1, g2) of at least one gap between two successive vehicles (2, 3, 4) are calculated in a processor (13) based on the sensor's/sensors' output. An ego-vehicle driver's gazing behavior using at least one driver sensor mounted on the ego-vehicle is observed and analyzed and an assistance signal is generated based on the result of the analysis and the determined size of the at least one gap. Finally, a recommendation and/or warning perceivable for the ego-vehicle's driver is output in accordance with the assistance signal. |
