Der Servicio Andaluz de Salud ist die öffentliche Gesundheitsbehörde der spanischen Region Andalusien und Trägerin zahlreicher Krankenhäuser und Forschungseinrichtungen. The invention discloses a localisation device (1) for radiation therapy on gynecological tumours that comprises: a frame (2) comprising a longitudinal guide (21), where said frame (2) is configured to be attached to an immobiliser for radiation therapy; a trolley (3) longitudinally and slidingly attached to the longitudinal guide (21) of the frame (2); and a bar (4) removably and slidingly attached to the trolley (3) in a direction parallel to the longitudinal guide (21). The bar (4) is placed a suitable distance from the frame (2) for its insertion into the vagina of a patient who is located on the immobiliser for radiation therapy in the supine position and with bent legs during radiation therapy treatment or medical imaging. Furthermore, at least the bar is made with a material having an electron density that is essentially the same as that of water. |

The device is related to the prevention and management of the most common complication in neurosurgical patients of hydrocephalus with implanted shunts (composed of a valve and catheters) based on optical and thermal image-guided ultrasound focusing for removal of accumulated debris, clearing obstructions and improving cerebrospinal fluid flow through implanted catheters and valves. It comprises emitters (1), with simultaneous or synchronized emission, an ultrasound generator (3), that excites the emission of ultrasound from the emitters (1), and a container (9), containing the emitters (1) and a fluid which matches ultrasound propagation from the transducers (1) to the skin of a patient, when the container (9) is placed over the head of the patient, centered in the targeted area of the cerebrospinal fluid shunt system (10). The device can also comprise an optical imaging unit (5), connected to the emitters (1) for monitoring skin temperature of the patient and guiding the emitters (1). |
