[Abstract] [Problem to be solved] There is provided a compound needle for a flatbed knitting machine, which can make a slider hard to move backward owing to a pulling force to a downward of a needle bed gap, which acts on an old loop, even if a state where a tongue rises relatively is temporarily held, when the tongue is moved relatively so as to close a hook. [Solution] A bottom portion of a tongue 6, there formed a step portion 6e between a slide contact portion 6c and an contacting portion 6d, has a shape concaved to the upper side in comparison with a conventional shape 6f. A stitch held on an upper edge 6a receives a pulling force to a downward of a needle bed gap 8. A direction that the pulling force acts on the stitch is almost identical to a direction that the contacting portion 6d contacts a flat face 4b. Therefore, since a component force in the direction along the flat face 4b is hardly generated, a slider 5 is made hard to move backward. If the contacting portion 6d has a circular arc shape, only a component force in the direction constantly perpendicular to the flat face 4b is generated and a component force in the direction along the flat face 4b is not generated, so that the slider 5 can be made further hard to move backward. |

To provide a method of setting up a knitted fabric capable of preventing a set up portion of a knitted fabric from being stretched and loosened when knitting the set up portion of the knitted fabric. Stitches of a draw thread (20) following a final course of an existing knitted fabric held on a needle bed of a flat knitting machine in a wale direction are knitted (T1). Pick-up stitches are formed on a plurality of empty needles, on which the stitches of the draw thread (20) are not held, to knit a set up portion (30) of a knitted fabric (T2). Furthermore, the stitches of the draw thread (20) and the pick-up stitches of the set up portion (30) are overlapped (T3). The stitches following the set up portion (30) in the wale direction are knitted by front tubular knitting and back tubular knitting (T4,T5). |

To provide a bind-off method of a knitted fabric capable of obtaining a tight bind-off processing portion having excellent contractile property. After obtaining a state in which a stitch row is allocated to one needle bed (FB) and other needle bed (BB), following [1], [2] are alternately repeated using a same knitting yarn. [1] A stitch at an end on one side (stitch ·) at an end in a starting end direction (RS) of the (FB) and a stitch (µ) closest in a bind-off direction (LS) from the stitch (·) of the (FB) are overlapped on the (BB), a new stitch (P1) is formed following the double stitches (µ/·), and the new stitch (P1) is redefined as the stitch at the end on the one side. [2] A stitch at an end on the other side (stitch P0) at an end in the starting end direction (RS) of the (BB) and a stitch (´) closest in the bind-off direction (LS) from the stitch (P0) of the (BB) are overlapped on the (FB), a new stitch (P2) is formed following the double stitches (´/P0), and the stitch (P2) is redefined as the stitch at the end on the other side. |
