A technique of generating surgical information from intra-operatively acquired image data of vertebrae and pre-operatively acquired image data of the vertebrae is presented. A method implementation comprises obtaining first image segments each containing a different vertebra, wherein the first image segments have been derived by processing the pre-operatively acquired image data, and obtaining second image segments each containing a different vertebra, wherein the second image segments have been derived by processing the inter-operatively acquired image data. The method also comprises identifying pairs of the second image segments and the first image segments that contain the same vertebra, respectively, and determining a transformation per pair of corresponding image segments that registers the identified respective first image segment and the identified respective second image segment. Further, the method comprises generating surgical information based on the transformation and the identified first image segment. Still further, the method comprises augmenting the surgical information by tracking a surgical tool and causing an output device to visually output a navigational aid indicative of the tracked surgical tool relative to visualized vertebrae.

A system for preventing of non-compliant use of equipment during a surgical procedure including one or more devices positioned within an operating room, a display, and a computer program product. The computer program product having instructions stored on non-transitory computerreadable medium and, when executed by one or more processors, causing the one or more processors to: receive signals from the one or more devices, wherein the signals are directed to at least a surgical site of a patient; provide the signals to a trained machine-learning model trained on signals representative of nominal and adverse medical events; determining based on the signals, with the trained machine-learning model, the non-compliant use of the equipment in a manner to produce a potential adverse medical event; and cause a notification or alarm to be displayed on the display based on the determination of the non-compliant use.

Techniques for co-registration of extended reality and surgical navigation systems involve detection of a spatial relationship between a virtual registration object and a physical registration object (e.g., tool). The physical registration object is observed on, or through, the display of the head-mounted device (HMD). In one implementation, biomechanical control input (e.g., hand/finger or eye tracking) from the HMD user is sensed to command acquisition of the virtual registration object relative to the physical registration object. In another implementation, the virtual registration object is presented on the HMD display for alignment with the physical registration object. In some instances, a virtual guide object is presented on the HMD display to dynamically guide the user to align the physical and virtual registration objects.

A method for guiding bone removal includes receiving at least one two-dimensional image of bony anatomy captured by a two-dimensional imaging system and at least one endoscopic image of the bony anatomy captured by an endoscopic imager. A three-dimensional model of the bony anatomy is registered with the endoscopic imager in a common reference frame using the two-dimensional image and a tracking system. A position and orientation of the three-dimensional model relative to the endoscopic image is determined based on registration of the three-dimensional model with the endoscopic imager in the common reference frame. The endoscopic image is displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the three-dimensional model based on the determined position and orientation of the three-dimensional model relative to the endoscopic image.

A nasal implant comprises an implant body comprising a distal end, a proximal end, a central portion disposed between the proximal end and the distal end, a core made of a degradable material, and a coating on an outer surface of the implant core. The central portion comprises a plurality of ribs. The coating comprises hydrophobic material which is bioabsorbable, wherein the coating and the implant core do not deliver a pharmaceutical agent or a drug. The nasal implant further comprises a first arm disposed at the distal end, the first arm having a proximal end fixed to the body and a distal end not fixed to the body, and a second arm having a proximal end fixed to the body and a distal end not fixed to the body. The distal end of the first arm is adapted to move away from a central longitudinal axis of the body from a delivery configuration toward a deployed configuration. The distal end of the second arm is adapted to move away from a central longitudinal axis of the body from a delivery configuration toward a deployed configuration, wherein the first and second arms are biased toward their deployed configuration.

A method for visualizing a patient shoulder anatomy is provided. The method includes receiving image data of the patient shoulder anatomy, identifying a boundary of a lesion on a humerus based on the image data, generating one or more 3D models based on a segmentation of the image data, determining a location of a glenoid track corresponding to a contact between the humerus and a glenoid based on the one or more 3D models, generating a first virtual object based on the location of the glenoid track, and displaying: at least a portion of a rendering of the one or more 3D models, the boundary of the lesion, and the first virtual object.

An autoclavable container for sterilizing a wirelessly chargeable battery is disclosed. The autoclavable container includes a lid comprising metal and a base comprising a material permitting the transmission of an electromagnetic wave therethrough and having a glass transition temperature above 140 degrees Celsius. The lid defines a plurality of apertures configured to allow a sterilant to permeate the lid. The lid comprises a mount configured to receive a filter defining a microbial barrier. The base defines a plurality of receptacles, each receptacle shaped to receive a wirelessly chargeable battery. The base also comprises a plurality of protrusions, each protrusion being aligned with a corresponding receptacle.

A computer-implemented method for image data registration is provided. The method comprises receiving first image data. The first image data are indicative of bone and of at least one bone marker placed therein, the bone marker having a longitudinal axis. The method also comprises determining a first orientation of the longitudinal axis of the at least one bone marker based on the first image data, receiving second image data indicative of the bone and of the at least one bone marker placed therein, and determining a second orientation of the longitudinal axis of the at least one bone marker based on the second image data. Further still, the method comprises registering, based at least one the first and second orientation of the longitudinal axis of the at least one bone marker, a first local coordinate system associated with at least a segment of the first image data within a global coordinate system.
