The present invention provides a haptic feedback device comprising a touch-sensitive display screen (1) and a magnetic loop actuator (2). The touch-sensitive display screen (1) has a touchable surface coated with a transparent film which is able to provide a variable surface friction to the touchable surface in response to an externally applied electromagnetic field. The magnetic loop actuator (2) is for applying the electromagnetic field to the film to vary the surface friction of the touchable surface. The magnetic loop actuator (2) is spatially separated from the touch-sensitive display screen (1). In a preferred embodiment, the haptic feedback device further comprises a driver module (12) to drive the magnetic loop actuator (2) to generate the electromagnetic field, a triggering module (17) to trigger the driver module (12), and an application (18) to receive a user input from the touch-sensitive display screen (1), to determine a haptic output to the user in response thereto, and to output a control signal to the triggering module (17) to vary the surface friction of the touchable surface according to the haptic output thus determined. The touch-sensitive display screen (1) and the magnetic loop actuator (2) may be installed as separate components in an electronic device (4) or the magnetic loop actuator (2) may be maintained external to an electronic device (4) comprising such a touch-sensitive display screen (1). In this way, the surface friction of the touch-sensitive display screen (1) may be varied to provide haptic feedback to a user without requiring a special construction of the touch-sensitive display screen (1).

A method, apparatus and computer program are provided for reducing the effect of electromagnetic noise on images displayed by a television display (101). A camera (100), when directed towards the display (101), generates image data representing at least a portion of an image being displayed. The image data are analysed by a controller (102) to identify a presence, in the at least a portion of an image being displayed, of one or more in a predetermined set of image artefacts known to result from the presence of electromagnetic noise. Filter characteristics are determined, for use by a configurable filter (104) in the television, corresponding to an identified image artefact. The generated signals are sent to the configurable filter (104) to implement the determined filter characteristics, thereby to reduce the presence of the identified image artefact. The process may be operated iteratively to improve the image quality.

The invention describes an active fluid cooling device for cooling of electronic devices, which comprises a housing in which a cavity is incorporated, wherein the cavity of the housing is divided by a first piezoelectric actuator and a second piezoelectric actuator which each have a planar form into three chambers, wherein the first piezoelectric actuator defines together with the housing an upper air chamber, wherein the first piezoelectric actuator together with the second piezoelectric actuator and the housing defines a middle air chamber, and wherein second piezoelectric actuator together with the housing defines a bottom air chamber, wherein the upper air chamber is in cooperation with an upper opening of the housing and wherein the middle air chamber is in cooperation with a middle opening of the housing and wherein the bottom air chamber is in cooperation with a lower opening of the housing, wherein a positive electric potential and a negative electric potential are applied in alternating way to the two piezoelectric actuators in such a way that the volumes of the upper air chamber, middle air chamber and bottom air chamber within the cavity of the housing are changing to result in a fluid stream in and out of the openings of the housing, so that the generated fluid stream is usable for cooling a heat generating element of an electronic device.
