The present disclosure is concerned with a skin treatment device having a treatment light source, a light emission window comprising a window element arranged for getting into skin contact during operation, a first sensor arranged for providing a first sensor signal indicative of an amount of hemoglobin in a skin area underneath the light emission window, and a processor coupled with the first sensor for communicating the first sensor signal in a user-perceptible manner by means of an indicator and/or for controlling a function of the skin treatment device in dependence on the first sensor signal.

An adaptor for being coupled to a drive shaft of an oral care device handle having an essentially cylindrical drive shaft coupling end and for being coupled to an oral care device attachment is provided, the adaptor comprising: a second separable coupling part configured for coupling with a first separable coupling part provided at a motion transmitter of the oral care device attachment; and a coupling unit having a top plate and one at least partly deformable essentially cylindrical wall element, or at least two elastic or deflectable wall elements, extending from the top plate, wherein the coupling unit defines an essentially cylindrical receiver receptacle for receiving and coupling with the essentially cylindrical drive shaft coupling end.

Provided is a hair-guiding element (10) for an electric shaver. The hair-guiding element has a skin-contacting surface (12) for contacting skin, and a cutting element-facing surface (14) for facing a cutting element (16), with the cutting element-facing surface facing in an opposite direction with respect to a direction faced by the skin-contacting surface. The hair-guiding element's periphery provides the hair-guiding element with a toothed profile comprising teeth (20) arranged along a main axis (MA) of the hair-guiding element, with the teeth each comprising part of the skin-contacting surface and part of the cutting element-facing surface. Further provided is a hair-cutting assembly (10, 16) comprising the hair-guiding element and the cutting element, and an electric shaver comprising such a hair-cutting assembly. Additionally provided is a method of manufacturing the hair-guiding element.

Provided is a hair-guiding element (10) for an electric shaver. The hair-guiding element has a skin-contacting surface (12) for contacting skin, and a cutting element-facing surface (14) for facing a cutting element (16), with the cutting element-facing surface facing in an opposite direction with respect to a direction faced by the skin-contacting surface. The hair-guiding element's periphery provides the hair-guiding element with a toothed profile comprising teeth (20) arranged along a main axis (MA) of the hair-guiding element, with the teeth each comprising part of the skin-contacting surface and part of the cutting element-facing surface. Slots (26, 26', 28, 28') separate neighboring teeth (20) from each other along the main axis (MA). The slots include pairs of slots (26, 28; 26', 28'). Each of the pairs of slots includes a longer slot (26; 26') and a shorter slot (28; 28'). Further provided is a hair-cutting assembly (10, 16) comprising the hair-guiding element and the cutting element, and an electric shaver comprising such a hair-cutting assembly. Additionally provided is a method of manufacturing the hair-guiding element.

Provided is an etching method that includes providing a metallic substrate (100) on which an etch-resistant material is arranged to mask the metallic substrate, through which etch-resistant material apertures (126) are defined. The etch-resistant material comprises a continuous region (128) that extends continuously between and surrounds the apertures. The etching method includes etching the metallic substrate, with the etching including delivering an etchant to the metallic substrate through the apertures so that discrete recessed regions in the metallic substrate are initially etched beneath the apertures. The etch-resistant material is resistant to the etchant. The etching is continued until at least some of the discrete recessed regions merge beneath the continuous region of the etch-resistant material so that the continuous region extends over a location of the metallic substrate located in-between the initially formed discrete recessed regions, at which location metallic material of the metallic substrate is removed when the discrete recessed regions merge to form one or more merged etched regions (130). The etching leaves behind a portion (132) of the metallic substrate, which portion of the metallic substrate still remains beneath the one or more merged etched regions. Also provided is a method of manufacturing a foil, comb or blade for an electric shaver, with the method comprising implementing the etching method. Further provided is an article obtainable by the etching method or the method of manufacturing the foil, comb or blade.

A filament for an oral care implement has a longitudinal axis and a multi-edged cross-sectional area extending in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the multi-edged cross-sectional area having at least 18 projections and at least 18 grooves, the projections and grooves being arranged in an alternating manner. Each projection has a peak, and each groove has a bottom formed by neighboring and converging projections. Each peak has a height, the height being defined as a perpendicular distance measured from the peak of the projection to a tangent between to neighboring bottoms. Each groove has a depth, the depth being defined as a perpendicular distance measured from the bottom of the groove to a tangent between two neighboring peaks. A ratio of the peak height to the depth of the groove is from about 1 to about 2, preferably about 1.5

A filament for an oral care implement has a longitudinal axis and a multi-edged cross-sectional area extending in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the multi-edged cross-sectional area having at least 18 projections and at least 18 grooves, the projections and grooves being arranged in an alternating manner. The filament is made from polyamide (PA), preferably from PA6, PA6.10, PA6.12, PA10.10, or PA12.

The radius of each groove is within a range from about 0.005 mm to about 0.03 mm, and the depth of each groove is within a range from about 0.002 mm to about 0.02 mm.

A personal care attachment for a personal care handle, the personal care attachment having an outer housing, a head unit having a head arranged for being driven into motion relative to the outer housing, in particular into an oscillatory motion, and a driver having a first end being coupled with the head and a second end arranged for being coupled with a drive shaft of the personal care handle, and a magnetic force unit having at least one first magnetically interacting element provided in fixed relationship with the outer housing and at least one second magnetically interacting element provided in fixed relationship with either the head or the driver, wherein the magnetic force unit is arranged to provide a force that biases the second end of the driver away from the head so that the head is in a maximum deflection state, in particular wherein the personal care attachment comprises a stopper that defines the maximum deflection state.
