A system receives 2D depth-map images of an empty conveyor belt. The system generates a training set of labelled 2D depth-map images based on the 2D depth-map images. The system trains or fine-tunes a neural network using the training set to form trained parameters that cause the neural network to detect items on the conveyor belt using 2D depth-map images of the items on the conveyor belt. In an alternative embodiment, a pre-trained neural network is configured to select feature map channels generated from 2D depth-map images of items on a conveyor belt. The selected channels are resized and combined to provide relevant data for generating a segmentation mask based of the items using a binarization threshold that is automatically determined. The system may include a pretrained image segmentation model that generates at least one instance segmentation mask from the 2D depth-map images. |

The system includes a camera positioned to capture video images of an operational area of the POS terminal and a computer that determines when movement of an item by a customer operating the POS terminal indicates scan avoidance. The computer receives video images from the camera, preprocesses frames of the video images to suppress background and to track the movement of the item from a pickup area of the POS terminal, through a scan area of a scanner of the POS terminal, and to a bagging area of the POS terminal. An uninterruptible power supply system includes a bidirectional AC-DC converter, a resonant converter, an automatic voltage regulation circuit and a control unit. When an AC input voltage is out of a predetermined voltage range and within a voltage regulation range, the automatic voltage regulation circuit, the resonant converter and the bidirectional AC-DC converter generate an AC supplementary voltage at an output terminal based on the AC input voltage and generate an AC output voltage based on the AC input voltage and the AC supplementary voltage, so that the AC output voltage is within the predetermined voltage range. When the AC input voltage is out of the voltage regulation range, the resonant converter and the bidirectional AC-DC converter generate the AC output voltage at the output terminal based on discharge voltage of a battery, so that the AC output voltage is within the predetermined range. |
