There is provided a portable conduction welding apparatus for conduction welding of thermoplastic composite parts. The welding apparatus includes a support frame assembly, an air pressure assembly, a heating system, and controller(s) having power supply(ies). The air pressure assembly includes a linear pneumatic actuator assembly, a directional air valve assembly, and an air regulator assembly. The heating system includes a first heater assembly with first machined insulation plates, a first machined heater block, first heater element(s), and first thermocouple(s). The second heater assembly includes second machined insulation plates, a second machined heater block, a dovetail connector plate, an air cylinder isolator plate, second heater element(s), and second thermocouple(s). The welding apparatus welds together at a weldline, a first thermoplastic composite part aligned to the first heater assembly and a second thermoplastic composite part aligned to the second heater assembly, by applying force, and conducting heat during a thermal welding cycle.

A system and method of forming a composite layered assembly includes arranging a first fiberglass layer between a non-woven carbon fiber layer and a decorative layer. The decorative layer, the first fiberglass layer, and the non-woven carbon fiber layer are exposed to one or more curing conditions to form a composite layered assembly.

A system and a method include a control unit configured to receive one or more force signals from one or more force sensors coupled to one or both of a tool or an end effector. The one or more force signals are indicative of one or more forces exerted in relation to the tool or the end effector as the tool operates on one or more components. The control unit is further configured to classify a status of an operative portion of the tool based on the one or more forces. The control unit can be further configured predict a remaining life of the operative portion based on the one or more forces.

A wire automation system includes a jig board, a pre-processing cell, a wire automation cell, a post-processing cell, and a transportation platform. The jig board is configured for routing of wires of a wire raceway along a linear path and a non-linear path. The pre-processing cell is configured for placement of wire raceway hardware and wire routing hardware on the jig board. The wire automation cell is configured for automated placement of the wires on the jig board. The wire automation cell is linked in series with the pre-processing cell. The post-processing cell is configured for removal of the wire raceway from the jig board. The post-processing cell is linked in series with the wire automation cell. The transportation platform is configured for moving the jig board sequentially through the pre-processing cell, the wire automation cell, and the post-processing cell.

A system for processing a workpiece includes a constraining container, a pressure-triggered coupling, and an expandable medium. The constraining container includes an interior volume and is configured to enclose at least a portion of the workpiece to be processed. The pressure-triggered coupling is configured to secure the constraining container in a closed configuration and is configured to release the constraining container upon an interior pressure of the interior volume of the constraining container reaching a trigger pressure. The expandable medium is configured to be disposed within the interior volume between at least a portion of the constraining container and at least a portion of the workpiece and is configured to expand such that the expandable medium applies a positive pressure to the constraining container and the workpiece.

Embedding-based search adjustment system is described. In an example, a search system generates digital content embeddings based on digital content characteristics using machine learning and indexes these embeddings with respective identifiers according to an embedding schema based on the digital content characteristics. Upon receiving a search result containing references to multiple items in response to a search query, the search system generates a search result embedding for the referenced items using machine learning. The search system then performs a similarity search comparing the search result embedding against the digital content embeddings to generate affinity scores. User interaction data related to the items in the search result is obtained. Based on both the affinity scores and the user interaction data, the search system adjusts the items within the search result. The adjusted search result is then presented for display in a user interface.

A current transformer includes a current sensor sensing a current of a conductor signal transmitted along a conductor and outputting a current signal based on the current and an electronic assembly connected to the current sensor and receiving the current signal from the current sensor. The electronic assembly determines an operating state of a powered device to which the conductor feeds the conductor signal based on the current signal. The electronic assembly is tuned to use the current signal of the current in a frequency range greater than or equal to 100Hz to determine the operating state.

Embedding-based search adjustment system is described. Examples are disclosed that relate to a weight detection and management system for an aircraft. In one example, the system includes a plurality of weight sensors, a communication network connected to the plurality of weight sensors, and a computing system. The plurality of weight sensors is distributed throughout the aircraft. Each weight sensor of the plurality of weight sensors is configured to output weight data that indicates a weight of a load detected by the weight sensor. The computing system includes a logic subsystem and a storage subsystem holding instructions executable by the logic subsystem to receive, via the communication network, the weight data output by the plurality of weight sensors, calculate a center of gravity of the aircraft based at least on the weight data output by the plurality of weight sensors, and output the center of gravity of the aircraft.

The present disclosure provides an inflation system for inflating inflatable objects, such as aircraft tires. The inflation system includes a flow sensor arranged to sense a flow rate of pressurized air supplied to an inflatable object by way of a supply path. The inflation system also includes a computing system. The computing system is configured to inflate, using feedback from the flow sensor, the inflatable object with a learned volume of pressurized air specific to the inflatable object.
