An apparatus and process for removal of surface oxides includes an electron emitter device for emission of electrons for electron attachment to facilitate removal of oxides from solder bumps and/or solder caps on pillars of the surface of wafer(s) passing through an oven or furnace. The electron emitter device can include one or more modules having an electron emitting member with a plurality of projections positioned between different housing elements so that the projections extend through openings defined at an interface between the housing elements. Each module of the device can be releasably attached to a module support member for repair or replacement in a modular fashion via use of fasteners or other mechanism(s) (e.g. via bolts or screws, etc.) so that maintenance work can occur more quickly and efficiently to reduce downtime of equipment and improve operational flexibility.

An apparatus for heat exchangers can include a mechanism or flow control processing arrangement that can be configured to maintain a temperature profile of the internal components of a heat exchanger within a pre-selected temperature range during periods of non-operation of a plant process or facility to help reduce the thermal stress incurred by the heat exchanger and its internal components. Embodiments of the heat exchanger apparatus and process of heat exchanger operation can facilitate maintenance of a pre-selected temperature profile in a heat exchanger during periods of non-operation or non-use and also facilitate quicker start-up operation when plant processing is to resume with heat exchanger operation.

An apparatus and process for low temperature regeneration that can be utilized in adsorption systems can include feeding low temperature regeneration gas to at least one off-line adsorber for regeneration of the adsorbent material within the vessel of the off-line adsorber(s). The regeneration time period can be set to facilitate regeneration of the adsorbent material without a need for a high temperature regeneration to occur. Some embodiments can be configured so a post-cooling operation while the regeneration gas is fed to the adsorber(s) can be avoided to permit embodiments to more effectively utilize heating time.

A process for separating carbon dioxide from a feed gas comprising carbon dioxide may comprise compressing the feed gas in a feed gas compressor to produce a compressed feed gas. The process may also comprise separating the compressed feed gas by an adsorption process comprising: using a plurality of adsorbent beds to produce a carbon dioxide-enriched product stream and a carbon dioxide-depleted stream, and a blowdown step. A blowdown gas may be removed from the adsorbent bed. The process may also comprise compressing the blowdown gas in the feed gas compressor and combining the blowdown gas with the compressed feed gas.
