The invention relates to a method for forecasting a lifespan of a tire installed on a vehicle, the method comprising: - repeatedly determining (by device 30) a value of a first quantity, optionally based on information provided by Sensors S1, S2, S3, S4, the first quantity being a measure for a load imposed by the vehicle onto the tire installed on the vehicle; - transmitting the determined values of the first quantity to a forecasting device 32; and - using the forecasting device (32), calculating a forecasted lifespan of the tire based on the determined values of the first quantity.

A redundant half-duplex fieldbus coupler for coupling two half-duplex fieldbus segments (S1, S2) each having a first channel segment (a1, a2) and a second channel segment (b1, b2) is provided.
