Embodiments of the disclosure provide a video editing method, apparatus, electronic device and storage medium. The method includes: obtaining a video editing template, and obtaining an image material for filling a segment to be filled in the video editing template. The image material is used to form a video segment of a video editing draft, at least a part of the image material is a predetermined image material, the predetermined image material is used to fill a segment to be filled in the video editing template that has not been filled by a user. A video editing result is generated based on the video editing template and the image material. By adopting the above technical solution, the embodiments of the disclosure can enrich the generation manner of the video editing result, and reduce the generation difficulty of the video editing result.
