A first image (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) representing a first part of an environment of a motor vehicle (1) and generated by a first camera (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) of the motor vehicle (1) and a second image (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) representing a second part of the environment of the motor vehicle (1) and generated by a second camera (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) of the motor vehicle (1) are received. A stitched image (8) is generated depending on the first image (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) and the second image (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d). An artifact (14) in the stitched image (8), which represents a component of the motor vehicle (1), is detected. An improved stitched image (12) is generated, wherein the artifact (14) is removed at least in part by applying a machine learning model, MLM, (11) trained for image inpainting to input data comprising the stitched image (8). |
