Various embodiments are directed to a device for detecting fluid particle characteristics comprising: a collection fluid dispense assembly configured to selectively dispense a volume of collection fluid onto an absorbent media disposed within an internal sensor portion of a fluid composition sensor, producing a collection media based on interaction between the volume of collection fluid and the absorbent media; and a controller configured to determine, based on a particle image captured by an imaging device, a particle characteristic associated with a particle captured at the collection media. In various embodiments a device is configured to receive therein a collection media comprising a biologically nutritive substance; and may comprise an imaging device and a controller configured to determine a biological particle characteristic based on a comparison of first particle data and second particle data generated by the imaging device, the second particle data being associated with an incubated particle configuration. |

The method includes generating a flight plan for the aircraft of at least one supersonic flight path segment in accordance with a flight plan criteria entered via an input interface wherein the aircraft traverses at least one supersonic flight path segment at an airspeed approaching or exceeding a supersonic airspeed; predicting based on an impact of a weather condition forecast to occur at a selected region of the supersonic flight path segment while the aircraft is operating at the airspeed approaching or exceeding the supersonic speed that an overpressure condition will occur causing an aerodynamic effect to the aircraft that results in the aircraft exceeding an operating limitation causing the Mach Tuck situation; and modifying the flight plan in a manner to lessen the impact of the weather condition forecast to occur to prevent the Mach Tuck situation. |

A method for determining an energy score for a guest room of a hotel having a plurality of guest rooms includes identifying two or more energy saving conditions associated with the guest room under which there is an opportunity to save energy when controlling the guest room without sacrificing guest comfort. The guest room is controlled in a designated energy savings mode when one or more of the energy savings room conditions are detected, and controlling the guest room in a guest comfort mode when none of the energy savings room conditions are detected. An energy score for the guest room is determined based at least in part on a measure of reliability of detecting the two or more energy savings conditions of the guest room, and thus the ability to take advantage of the opportunities to save energy when controlling the guest room. |
