A network system for transmitting voice and elevator telemetry data, having: a gateway with gateway controllers including one or more gateway controllers to process the telemetry data and to process the voice data; a first battery that powers the gateway; a first cable, operationally coupled to the one or more gateway controllers and an elevator controller, wherein the first cable is configured to receive, from the elevator controller, the telemetry data and power to recharge the first battery; a PLC connector, operationally coupled to the one or more gateway controllers, an intercom in the elevator car via a connector cable, wherein the connector cable extends from the PLC connector, along a traveling cable, to the intercom, and the PLC connector is configured to receive the voice data from the intercom and transfer a portion of the power from the elevator controller to recharge a second battery mounted within the intercom.

Elevator cars include a front wall panel with a car door in an opening. A storage cavity is defined within a portion of one of the front wall panel and the car door and is located behind a cab facing surface thereof. The storage cavity is defined by the cab facing surface and a side surface that defines a part of the opening when the car door is in an open state. An emergency ladder assembly is configured to be removably installed into the storage cavity. A storage opening is defined on the side surface and the emergency ladder assembly includes a cover plate configured to be removably attached to the side surface and cover the storage opening and an emergency ladder removably stored on the cover plate, with the emergency ladder being housed within the storage cavity in a stowed state.

Elevator cars including a movable platform defining an elevator car floor, a ceiling access panel located in a ceiling of the elevator car, and a ceiling panel access system. The ceiling panel access system includes at least one movable support arranged within a vertical frame member and the at least one movable support is connected to the movable platform and arranged to move the movable platform vertically within the elevator car.

A system configured for simulating communication loads over a network, the system having: a controller module; an application module, operationally coupled over the network to the controller module, wherein the system is configured to execute a load test over the network with the application module, by: transmitting mock telemetry messages, associated with mock devices, representing internet-of-things (IoT) devices, to the application module, wherein the mock telemetry messages are equivalent to production telemetry messages sent from the IoT devices; and issuing an alert when the system determines that a result of the load test is indicative of errors above a threshold associated with receipt of the mock telemetry messages by the application module.

A virtual safety net system includes at least one active remove sensor in signal communication with a processor. The at least one remote sensor is configured to output energy that establishes an energy safety net and to detect reflected energy that is reflected from an object disposed in the energy safety net. The energy safety net has a work zone defined within the energy safety net. The processor is configured to determine a location of the object within the energy safety net. The processor determines the object as authorized to be located within the energy safety net when the object is within the work zone, and determines the object as unauthorized to be located within the energy safety net when the object is outside the work zone while remaining within the energy safety net.

An elevator system (2) comprises an elevator car (6) configured for travelling along a hoistway (4) between a plurality of landings (8); and passenger detection system. The passenger detection system includes at least one passenger detector (22, 32) configured for detecting the presence of at least one passenger (20) in a detection range of the at least one passenger detector (22, 32); and at least one indicator device (24, 34). The at least one indicator device (24, 34) is configured for receiving a detection signal from the at least one passenger detector (22, 32) indicating the presence of at least one passenger (20) in the detection range of the at least one passenger detector (22, 32), and for outputting a notification indicating that at least one passenger (20) is present in the detection range of the at least one passenger detector (22, 32) in response to receiving the detection signal from the at least one passenger detector (22, 32). The at least one passenger detector (22, 32) is located in the elevator car (6) and/or at at least one of the landings (8) of the elevator system (2). The at least one indicator device (24, 34) is located at the other one of the elevator car (6) and/or the at least one of the landings (8) of the elevator system (2) so that the detection signal is transmitted from the at least one of the landings (8) to the elevator car (6) and/or from the elevator car (6) to the at least one of the landings (8).

A virtual safety net system includes at least one active remote sensor configured to output energy that establishes an energy safety net and to detect reflected energy that is reflected from an object disposed in the energy safety net, and a processor in signal communication with the at least one active remote sensor. The processor is configured to determine an energy intensity of the reflected energy and to identify the object as an exception tool permitted to be disposed in the energy safety net in response to the energy intensity exceeding an energy intensity threshold.

An elevator machine support structure (30) comprises a machine bedplate (32) for supporting an elevator machine (5) on a first side of the machine bedplate (32); and a tension member dead end hitch (36) that is configured for mechanically coupling with an end of at least one elevator tension member (3). The tension member dead end hitch (36) extends from a second side of the machine bedplate (32) opposite to the first side.

An elevator system in which an elevator car travels in a hoistway is provided. The elevator system includes an anchor, a tensioning mass, a car-mounted governor (CMG) affixable to the elevator car, a rope and a processing board. The CMG includes idler and traction pulleys and at least one encoder mountable on one of the idler and traction pulleys and configured to generate a signal reflective of rotation of the one of the idler and traction pulleys on which the at least one encoder is mounted. The rope is extendible from the anchor, around the idler and traction pulleys and to the tensioning mass to cause idler and traction pulley rotation when the elevator car travels in the hoistway. The processing board is receptive of the signal and is configured to determine at least a position of the elevator car in the hoistway from the signal.

A virtual elevator safety net configuration system includes an active remote sensor configured to output energy within field of view (FOV) and to detect the energy reflected from an object located in the FOV, and one or more markers arranged within the FOV to define a spatial region of interest. The one or more markers are configured to reflect the energy having a first energy intensity to the active remote sensor. The virtual elevator safety net configuration system further includes a processor in signal communication with the active remote sensor. The processor is configured to determine the spatial region of interest within the FOV based at least in part on the reflected energy having a first energy intensity.
