Disclosed is a specimen measurement system operable to optically perform a measurement on a specimen, the specimen measurement system comprising: a specimen analyzer configured to optically perform the measurement on the specimen, the specimen analyzer including: (i) a specimen suction part configured to suction the specimen, the specimen suction part comprising a nozzle to suction the specimen in a specimen container, a movement mechanism configured to move the nozzle into the specimen container and a pump configured to apply a negative pressure so that the nozzle suctions the specimen; (ii) a sample preparator configured to prepare a measurement sample by mixing the suctioned specimen and a reagent in a container; (iii) an optical detector configured to detect light from the prepared measurement sample; and (iv) a controller configured to control, according to control software, the specimen suction part, the sample preparator and the optical detector so that the specimen analyzer optically performs the measurement on the specimen, wherein the specimen analyzer analyzes, in order to obtain a measurement result, optical information which is derived from the detected light, and manages, according to management software, data relating to the specimen analyzer, wherein the data includes the measurement result; an imaging apparatus configured to capture images of blood cells in a smear of the specimen; and a computer capable of running an interface which interacts with application software programmed to utilize the data and the image, wherein the application software is independent of the specimen analyzer, wherein the interface executes operations including: (a) receiving a request from the application software; (b) retrieving, according to a predetermined rule, the images corresponding to the request, wherein the retrieved images are associated with metadata including morphological features of the blood cells; and (c) providing the retrieved images to the application software so that the application software displays, based on the metadata, a plurality of candidates indicating classification for a specific blood cell in the retrieved images that visually demonstrate the morphological features of the blood cells. |

Disclosed is a measurement apparatus for blood samples including a reagent storage unit for first and second containers storing a diluent and a hemolytic agent, respectively, and a transport unit arranged above it. A measurement unit, also above the storage unit, includes a third container for a staining solution, chambers for preparing first and second measurement samples, and detectors for electrical and optical signals. The apparatus is configured to process 300 to 500 samples per hour for measurement orders including complete blood count and five-part white blood cell differential counting. A supply unit provides reagents to the measurement unit, and a control unit manages the operations. The supply unit is configured to continue supplying the diluent and the hemolytic agent while the first or second container is being replaced, ensuring uninterrupted measurement. |
