A shutter assembly includes a slider slidable in a first direction relative to a cassette, and first and second arms coupled the slider and the cassette that are independently slidable in the first direction relative to the slider and the cassette and pivotable relative to the slider and the cassette, and shutter plates coupled to the arms such that are movable between a closed condition and an open condition wherein the apertures of the shutter plates are aligned with one another and the of terminals of the cassette. The slider includes a locking portion structured to enable the slider to be padlocked to a member extending from the top surface of the cassette. The shutter assembly also includes a latching mechanism for latching the shutter assembly in the open condition.

An improved emergency pedestal includes a lighting projection device to increase visibility and identifiability of the emergency pedestal. The lighting projection device is separate from an illumination lens that provides lighting to illuminate the area around the emergency pedestal. The lighting projection device is configured to project an illuminated image on a nearby ground surface. The illuminated image depicts a fire extinguisher and/or text or other imagery that identifies the emergency pedestal as specifically being an emergency pedestal. Projecting the illuminated image helps a user to clearly differentiate the emergency pedestal from other outdoor pedestals such as power pedestals, especially in low ambient lighting or low visibility conditions.

An example computing system retrieves information from one or more applications, and receives an indication of a natural language input. The computing system applies a machine learning model to at least a portion of the information and at least a portion of the indication of the natural language input to generate instructions for generating at least one graphical component, e.g., a custom widget. The instructions may include a temporal parameter for the at least one graphical component, in which the computing system may update, based on the temporal parameter, the instructions for generating the at least one graphical component to update the at least one graphical component.

A multi-channel photonic demultiplexer includes an input region to receive a multi-channel optical signal including four distinct wavelength channels, four output regions, each adapted to receive a corresponding one of the four distinct wavelength channels demultiplexed from the multi-channel optical signal, and a dispersive region optically disposed between the input region and the four output regions. The dispersive region includes a first material and a second material inhomogeneously interspersed to form a plurality of interfaces that each correspond to a change in refractive index of the dispersive region and collectively structure the dispersive region to optically separate each of the four distinct wavelength channels from the multi-channel optical signal and respectively guide each of the four distinct wavelength channels to the corresponding one of the four output regions.

An apparatus for use in an electrical switching device including an operating mechanism having an energy storing device, a cam assembly, a pole shaft, and separable contacts. The apparatus includes a holding device; a discharge detector structured to be disposed adjacent to the cam assembly and detect discharging status of the energy storage device based on the position of the cam assembly; a pole shaft position detector structured to be coupled to the pole shaft and detect open and close state of the separable contacts based on the position of the pole shaft; and a switching device monitor coupled to the detectors and structured to receive data from the detectors, analyze the data and perform control and/or diagnostics on the electrical switching device based on the analysis, the data including the detected discharging status and the detected open and close state.

A circuit interrupter includes an inductor module connected in series with a hybrid interrupter switch between a power source and a load. The inductor module includes a coupled inductor comprising a primary winding connected in series between the power source and the interrupter module, and a secondary winding connected at its line side to the power source. The secondary winding load side is connected to a first stage switching device, with the first stage switching device forming a switch between the secondary winding and the interrupter module. The first stage switching device and the hybrid interrupter switch are kept closed under normal current conditions. During a fault, the first stage switching device is opened first, which significantly increases flux in the inductor module and impedance of the circuit, and consequently decreases current through the interrupter module. The hybrid switch is opened second to complete interruption.
