A hybrid electro-optic modulator is described. The modulator comprises an electro-optic layer configured to support a hybrid mode propagating in a first direction, a pair of electrodes spaced apart in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the electrodes being positioned on the same side of the electro-optic layer and between the propagation path of the hybrid mode, wherein each electrode has a cross-sectional shape in a plane defined by the second direction and a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions, the cross-sectional shape including a lower region joined to an elevated region via an angled region. The lower region is closer to the electro-optic layer than the elevated region in the third direction, the angled region extends towards the propagation path of the hybrid mode in the second direction, and the pair of elevated regions are closer than the pair of lower regions in the second direction. |

A phase-locked loop circuit, a phase-locking method, and a frequency synthesizer are provided. The phase-locked loop circuit employs phase-rolling clock signal generator component to perform integer frequency division on multiple oscillation clock signals with uniformly varying phases to obtain multiple feedback clock signals with uniformly varying phases; and according to a preset clock cycle, select feedback clock signals with corresponding phase sequences from the multiple feedback clock signals with uniformly varying phases for concatenation, thereby generating the phase-rolling clock signal. This architecture enables fractional-N frequency division phase-locked loop operation. Compared with conventional fractional-N frequency division phase-locked loop implementations using sigma-delta modulator (SDM) circuits, the proposed solution reduces circuit area and power consumption while improving phase-locked loop performance. |

A robotic arm is configured to move an end effector to facilitate simultaneous engagement of two or more charging plugs with two or more charging sockets of an electric vehicle. The end effector includes a mounting bracket for coupling the end effector to the robotic arm, a housing associated with the mounting bracket, and an imaging device mounted on the mounting bracket. The housing is configured to maintain the two or more charging plugs in a rigid array for mating with a complementary array of two or more charging sockets of the electric vehicle. The imaging device is configured to generate a pose signal indicative of a pose of the complementary array of said charging sockets of the electric vehicle, whereby a controller associated with the robotic arm is arranged to receive the pose signal and determine a spatial relationship between said array of charging plugs and the complementary array of charging sockets and to control the robotic arm using the determined spatial relationship to align the housing of the end effector to facilitate engagement of said array of charging plugs with the complementary array of said charging sockets. |
