A ray-based detection system for detecting a wave blocking content within an environment (E) in based on ray-tracing. The system suits for detecting presence of an object or a human in the environment, in particular for safety of security applications. Two alternative implementations are provided for inferring the presence of the object or human from sensed waves. The system also allows distinguishing between several postures of the detected human. The waves implemented by the ray-based detection system may be radio waves, acoustic waves or laser-emitted waves. |

The method includes: dividing an operational period into a number of sub-periods, where each sub-period represents a distinct portion of the operational period; obtaining information for operating the heat pump for at least some of the sub-periods, where the information may include factors such as energy demand, weather conditions, or grid stability; determining an operational state for the heat pump for each sub-period based on the obtained information; and controlling the heat pump based on the determined operational state for each sub-period. This method ensures efficient and robust operation of the system through the control of the heat pump by determining its operational state. |
