An oxygen supply system, in particular for a passenger aircraft, includes a container housing having a container door, a latch controller coupled to a latch of the container door and configured to control the latch to releasably open the container door, a microcontroller coupled to the latch controller and configured to output a first latch deployment signal to the latch controller to cause the latch controller to open the latch, a pressure sensor coupled to the latch controller and configured to output a second latch deployment signal to the latch controller to cause the latch controller to open the latch, and an energy storage coupled to the microcontroller and the pressure sensor, the energy storage being configured to supply the microcontroller and the pressure sensor with electrical energy. The microcontroller includes built-in test equipment (BITE), the BITE being configured to monitor and test the operability of one or more of the microcontroller, the latch controller the pressure sensor and the energy storage. |

A load-bearing fairing element (2) for a flap adjustment mechanism of an aircraft comprises a shell-shaped fairing housing (4) with an at least partly U-shaped profile with an open side, a closed side, and a direction of main extension (x), at least one first cover panel (14) that along the direction of main extension (x) covers part of the open side, and a load-bearing bridge element (24). The bridge element (24) is arranged in the fairing housing (4) and with a base area (26) conforms so as to be flush against an internal surface (28) of the fairing housing (4) and extends towards the open side. The bridge element (24) comprises an essentially planar cover area (30) that covers the base area (26) on the open side in order to produce a closed profile contour that is circumferential on the direction of main extension (x). The bridge element (24) comprises means for holding a shaft feed-in (32) of a central flap drive and means for holding an adjustment mechanism (51) that is couplable to the shaft feed-in (32). Consequently there is no need to provide complex stiffening structures within the fairing element. |

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a load bearing structure, comprising the following steps: providing a panel (1); providing a first set of split stiffening elements (2) on a surface of said panel (1), wherein the split stiffening elements (2) of said first set having bottom surfaces (3) and central portions (4) with open top clearances (5), respectively, being spaced apart from each other; providing a second set of stiffening elements (7) having bottom surfaces (8) and top surfaces (10) and central portions (9), respectively; inserting the stiffening elements (7) of said second set into respective open top clearances (5) of said split stiffening elements (2) of said first set and providing said second set of stiffening elements (7) on said surface of said panel (1) for forming a grate structure; and attaching top surfaces (6) to said split stiffening elements (2) of said first set for forming complete profiles. Additionally, the present invention relates to a respective load bearing structure. |

The invention provides an aircraft with a trimmable horizontal stabilizer (13) that not requires a cut-out in resistant areas of the rear fuselage and that occupies less space that in conventional horizontal stabilizers. The rear fuselage (5) comprises at least a first section (9) having a resistant fuselage and a second section (11), aft of the first section, having a non-resistant fuselage (i.e. a fairing). The load-bearing structure (30) of the horizontal stabilizer and the trimming actuator (50) are disposed inside said second section (11). The pivot element (41) is mounted on its forward side and coupled to the first section (9) of the rear fuselage. The connection fitting (21) is mounted on its rearward side and the trimming actuator (50) is disposed so that it exerts a force in the direction of the Z-axis of the aircraft on the connection fitting (21) during a trimming operation. |
