A method of manufacturing a disposable absorbent article is provided. A cylinder of one or more rolls of fibrous material is provided which is partially wrapped with a polymeric covering. A zone of weakness is formed in an axial direction of the cylinder in the polymeric covering using a robot. A breaking device is provided at a temperature within 150 degrees Celsius of the melting temperature of the polymeric covering. Using the robot, a substantially uniform radially inward force is applied against the cylinder with the breaking device along the zone of weakness to rupture the zone of weakness. The method does not damage outer layers of the fibrous material. A robot is used to remove the polymeric covering from the at least one roll. The at least one roll is unwound and fed to the at least one roll into an absorbent article manufacturing line. |

The colored filaments comprise at least a first and a second type of filament, wherein the types of filaments differ in color changing characteristics over a pre-defined period of time, the pre-defined period of time being the same for the first and the second type of filament so that the initial color pattern changes color characteristics over at least a first pre-defined period of time to a first color pattern, the first color pattern being different form the initial color pattern. The first type of filament changes its initial color to a first color, and the second type of filament changes its initial color to a first color, the first color of the second type of filament being different from the first color of the first type of filament, and wherein the initial color pattern is uniform and consists of one color only. |
