The present invention discloses a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance of a patient's nares and to an entrance of the patient's mouth, wherein the patient interface is configured to maintain a therapy pressure in a range of about 4 cmH2O to about 30 cmH2O above ambient air pressure in use, throughout a patient's respiratory cycle, while the patient is sleeping, to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing; said patient interface comprising: a plenum chamber at least partially forming a cavity pressurisable to a therapeutic pressure of at least 6 cmH2O above ambient air pressure, said plenum chamber including at least one plenum chamber inlet port sized and structured to receive a flow of air at the therapeutic pressure for breathing by a patient; and a seal-forming structure comprising a textile membrane constructed and arranged to form a seal with a region of the patient's face surrounding the entrance to the patient's nares and the entrance to the patient's mouth, the seal-forming structure comprising: a nasal portion configured to at least partially surround the entrance to the patient's nares, and an oral portion configured to at least partially surround the entrance to the patient's mouth, wherein said textile membrane has at least one hole such that the flow of air at said therapeutic pressure is delivered to at least an entrance to the patient's nares and/or the patient's mouth, the seal-forming structure constructed and arranged to maintain said therapeutic pressure in the cavity throughout the patient's respiratory cycle in use, wherein the textile membrane includes a three-dimensional shape having multiple curvatures, wherein the seal-forming structure further includes a flexible support structure for holding the textile membrane in the three-dimensional shape. |

The present invention discloses a control algorithm of a CPAP system or providing air at positive pressure for respiratory therapy to a patient, the CPAP system comprising: a respiratory pressure therapy - RPT - device configured to supply a flow of air at a therapeutic pressure; a patient interface forming a plenum chamber pressurizable to the therapeutic pressure, the patient interface including a seal-forming structure constructed and arranged to form a seal with a region of a patient's face surrounding an entrance to a patient's airways; and an air delivery tube configured to pass the fl ow of air at the therapeutic pressure from the RPT device to the patient interface, the control algorithm comprising: measuring ambient humidity; setting a target gas temperature based on the measured ambient humidity and a preferred gas temperature setting from the patient; measuring the gas temperature at the patient interface; and controlling power to the controllable heater to correct any differences between the target gas temperature and the measured gas temperature. |

A system includes a respiratory device, a mask, a sensor, and a control system. The respiratory device is configured to supply pressurized air. The mask is coupled to the respiratory device and configured to engage a user during a sleep session to aid in directing the supplied pressurized air to the user. The sensor is configured to generate physiological data associated with the user. The control system is configured to analyze the physiological data to determine a first sleep stage of the user, and based on the determined first sleep stage of the user, (i) set a range of pressures for the respiratory device to supply the pressurized air, and (ii) set a rate of change of the pressurized air for the respiratory device to use when changing the supplied pressurized air from a first pressure within the range of pressures to a second pressure within the range of pressures. |

The plenum chamber insert comprises: a heat and moisture exchanger (HMX) material configured to receive and retain water from gas exhaled by the patient and to desorb retained water into the flow of air at the therapeutic pressure passing through the HMX material during use; and a frame, which comprises a plenum chamber insert port; an anterior insert frame and a posterior insert frame attached to the anterior insert frame, and the HMX material being secured between the anterior insert frame and the posterior insert frame; and an anterior insert frame spacer extending from the anterior insert frame and contacting the HMX material to space the HMX material away from the anterior insert frame such that a gap is formed between the anterior insert frame and the HMX material. |
