The present disclosure describes a novel detacher assembly for removing security tag assemblies, specifically enhancing the operational efficiencies and security features involved in detaching security tags from merchandise in retail environments. The instant assembly incorporates an innovative combination of mechanical components including a unique geometric aperture pattern formed of various pins and placeholders. Additionally, an integrated switch activates a detacher mechanism, allowing the assembly's components to penetrate and separate a security tag from merchandise. Designed for versatility, the assembly can be integrated into fixed surfaces such as tabletops or checkout counters, or incorporated into handheld devices.

Thermoplastic compositions include: (a) from about 35 wt% to about 70 wt% of a polymer resin including at least a first polyethylene polymer and a second polyethylene polymer that is different than the first polyethylene polymer; (b) from about 20 wt% to about 45 wt% of at least one graphite filler; and (c) from about 10 wt% to about 20 wt% of a carbon black filler. The composition has a steady-state capillary viscosity of between 400 and 620 Pa.s when observed at 280 °C and 1,000 1/s as evaluated using a multi-point method and a Kayeness capillary viscometer. The composition has notched Izod impact (NII) strength at 23 °C of at least 24 Joules per meter (J/m) or an unnotched Izod impact (UNII) strength at 23 °C of at least 135 J/m, wherein NII and UNII are evaluated in accordance with ASTM D256 and ASTM D4812.

An elastic strand conveyance system that includes stack plates disposed on linear actuators. The stack plates include a base plate that supports entry and exit yarn guides. Wheels and pitch plates are disposed between the entry and exit yarn guides. Elastic strands are conveyed through the entry and exit yarn guides and over the wheels at a pitch determined by the pitch plates. The stack plates are capable of being disengaged from the linear actuators to allow for manual movement of the stack plates along rails of the linear actuators so that elastic strands may be replaced in the case of breakage.

A thermoplastic composition includes: (a) from about 10 wt% to about 90 wt% of a polycarbonate component including a polycarbonate homopolymer; (b) from about 5 wt% to about 20 wt% of a poly (carbonate-siloxane) copolymer having a siloxane content of from 10 wt% to 45 wt%; (c) from about 5 wt% to about 25 wt% of a glass fiber; and (d) at least one phosphorous-based flame retardant.
