The present application relates to a process for the preparation of pyroxasulfone comprising reacting 3-[(5-difluoromethoxy-1-methyl-3-trifluoromethylpyrazol-4-yl)methylthio]-4,5-dihydro-5,5-dimethylisoxazole with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a metal catalyst, a surfactant selected from the group of non-ionic surfactants, anionic surfactants or mixtures thereof, and water.

Thermoplastic compositions include (a) from about 20 wt% to about 90 wt% of a polyamide resin; and (b) from about 30 wt% to about 55 wt% of a ceramic filler. The composition has a pencil hardness of "B" or harder as evaluated according to ASTM D3363 using a force of 1 kilogram-force (kgf). The combined weight percent value of all components does not exceed 100 wt%, and all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the composition. In certain aspects the ceramic filler includes aluminum oxide, aluminosilicate, or a combination thereof.

Thermoplastic compositions include: (a) from about 10 wt% to about 85 wt% of a polycarbonate component; (b) from about 2 wt% to about 70 wt% of at least one polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer having a siloxane content of from about 5 wt% to about 45 wt%; (c) from about 2 wt% to about 15 wt% of a phosphazene flame retardant; and (d) from about 10 wt% to about 50 wt% of an inorganic filler comprising glass fiber, carbon fiber, or a combination thereof. The composition is free of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS-free), and has a total siloxane content of at least 1.0 wt%. 40 sample bars prepared according to UL94 having a thickness of from 0.6 millimeter (mm) to 1.0 mm exhibit 1 drip or less after two flame applications according to UL94.

A thermoplastic composition includes: (a) from about 40 wt% to about 85 wt% of a polycarbonate homopolymer; (b) from greater than 12 wt% to about 30 wt% of a first polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer (PC-Si copolymer) having a siloxane content of from about 35 wt% to about 45 wt%; (c) from about 1 wt% to about 40 wt% of a second PC-Si copolymer having a siloxane content of from about 4 wt% to about 8 wt%; and (d) from about 0.01 wt% to about 2 wt% of at least one type of diffuser beads. The combined weight percent value of all components does not exceed 100 wt%, and all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the composition. The composition has good chemical resistance properties as evaluated after Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR) testing according to ISO 22088-3.

The instant assembly incorporates an innovative combination of mechanical components including a unique geometric aperture pattern formed of various pins and placeholders. Additionally, an integrated switch activates a detacher mechanism, allowing the assembly's components to penetrate and separate a security tag from merchandise. Designed for versatility, the assembly can be integrated into fixed surfaces such as tabletops or checkout counters, or incorporated into handheld devices.

Thermoplastic compositions include: (a) from about 35 wt% to about 70 wt% of a polymer resin including at least a first polyethylene polymer and a second polyethylene polymer that is different than the first polyethylene polymer; (b) from about 20 wt% to about 45 wt% of at least one graphite filler; and (c) from about 10 wt% to about 20 wt% of a carbon black filler. The composition has a steady-state capillary viscosity of between 400 and 620 Pa.s when observed at 280 °C and 1,000 1/s as evaluated using a multi-point method and a Kayeness capillary viscometer. The composition has notched Izod impact (NII) strength at 23 °C of at least 24 Joules per meter (J/m) or an unnotched Izod impact (UNII) strength at 23 °C of at least 135 J/m, wherein NII and UNII are evaluated in accordance with ASTM D256 and ASTM D4812.

An elastic strand conveyance system that includes stack plates disposed on linear actuators. The stack plates include a base plate that supports entry and exit yarn guides. Wheels and pitch plates are disposed between the entry and exit yarn guides. Elastic strands are conveyed through the entry and exit yarn guides and over the wheels at a pitch determined by the pitch plates. The stack plates are capable of being disengaged from the linear actuators to allow for manual movement of the stack plates along rails of the linear actuators so that elastic strands may be replaced in the case of breakage.
