Zusammenfassung
A polycarbonate composition including 10-50 wt% of a linear polycarbonate, a branched polycarbonate endcapped with p-cumyl phenol, or a combination thereof; 5-20 wt% of a polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer having a siloxane content of 30-70 wt%, present in an amount effective to provide 3-14 wt% siloxane repeating units based on the total weight of the composition; 40-60 wt% of a highly branched polycarbonate endcapped with 4-hydroxybenzonitrile; 0.5-15 wt% of a non-fluorinated phosphorus-containing flame retardant; 0.1-5 wt% of a silicone fluid having dissolved therein a silicone resin; optionally, a colorant composition optionally comprising 0.1-10 wt% of TiO<2>; optionally, an additive composition; and optionally, 5-25 wt% of glass fibers; each based on the total weight of the polycarbonate composition, which totals 100 wt%; and wherein the polycarbonate composition comprises fluorinated compounds in an amount effective to provide 1500 ppm or less fluorine to the total composition; and wherein a molded sample of the polycarbonate composition has a UL-94 rating of 5V at a thickness of 3.0 millimeters |

Thermoplastic compositions include: (a) from about 35 wt% to about 70 wt% of a polymer resin including at least a first polyethylene polymer and a second polyethylene polymer that is different than the first polyethylene polymer; (b) from about 20 wt% to about 45 wt% of at least one graphite filler; and (c) from about 10 wt% to about 20 wt% of a carbon black filler. The composition has a steady-state capillary viscosity of between 400 and 620 Pa.s when observed at 280 °C and 1,000 1/s as evaluated using a multi-point method and a Kayeness capillary viscometer. The composition has notched Izod impact (NII) strength at 23 °C of at least 24 Joules per meter (J/m) or an unnotched Izod impact (UNII) strength at 23 °C of at least 135 J/m, wherein NII and UNII are evaluated in accordance with ASTM D256 and ASTM D4812. |

A thermoplastic composition includes: (a) from about 10 wt% to about 90 wt% of a polycarbonate component including a polycarbonate homopolymer; (b) from about 5 wt% to about 20 wt% of a poly (carbonate-siloxane) copolymer having a siloxane content of from 10 wt% to 45 wt%; (c) from about 5 wt% to about 25 wt% of a glass fiber; and (d) at least one phosphorous-based flame retardant. The at least one phosphorous based flame retardant provides a total phosphorous content of from 0.22 wt% to 0.37 wt% to the composition. The combined weight percent value of all components does not exceed 100 wt%, and all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the composition. In some aspects the compositions have good UL94 flame retardant and high heat (e.g., ball pressure test) performance. |

An article is molded from a thermoplastic composition including particular amounts of a poly(phenylene ether), a poly(butylene terephthalate), an impact modifier, a reactive compatibilizer, and a conductive filler including carbon nanotubes. The article is an electrostatically paintable automotive component, and exhibits a desirable combination of good conductivity and thermal stability. Methods of making the molded article are also disclosed. |

A polyamic acid prepolymer composition prepared from: an amine-terminated polyetherimide oligomer; a dianhydride or dianhydride derivative; optionally a diamine, an endcapping agent, a branching agent, a crosslinking composition, or a combination thereof; and a solvent. A varnish composition, including: a polyamic acid composition; optionally a crosslinking composition; optionally an additive; and optionally a solvent, wherein a dynamic viscosity of the varnish composition is 10,000 to 200,000 cP, or 10,000 to 100,000 cP, or 10,000 to 80,000 cP, as determined at a solids content of 10 wt% in 1-methylpyrrolidin-2-one at 25 °C. A method of preparing a polyamic acid prepolymer composition includes combining an amine-terminated polyetherimide oligomer, a dianhydride or dianhydride derivative, and a solvent, to form the polyamic acid prepolymer composition. |
