The plates are permanently joined to form flow passages for two heat exchange media. First inlet and outlet channels communicate with every other flow passage, while second inlet and outlet channels communicate with the remaining passages. First guiding ribs in the port portions distribute the first heat exchange medium, and second guiding ribs do the same for the second medium. Fins in the heat exchange portion create parallel guide channels for both media. A mixing zone is configured between the fins and guiding ribs to equalize volume flow before entering the guide channels. Outermost guiding ribs prevent bypass flow between the plates and fins, ensuring efficient heat exchange. |

The heat transfer area defining a first heat exchange surface for the first medium and an opposite second heat exchange surface for the second medium. The first heat exchange surface defines a meandering flow path for the first medium The meandering flow path is divided into an upper flow channel extending transversally in an upper part of the first heat exchange surface, a lower flow channel transversally in a lower part of the first heat exchange surface and at least one intermediate flow channel extending transversally in an intermediate part of the first heat exchange surface between the upper flow channel and the lower flow channel. |

The present invention provides a method for determining if air is trapped within a centrifugal separator (100). The separator comprises a stationary frame (30), a rotatable assembly (101) and a drive unit (34) for rotating the rotatable assembly (101) relative the frame (30) around an axis of rotation (X); and further a feed inlet (20) for supply of a liquid mixture to be separated, a first liquid outlet (21) for discharge of a separated liquid phase and a second liquid outlet (22) for discharge of a heavy phase having a density that is higher than said liquid phase; wherein the rotatable assembly (101) comprises a rotor casing (2) enclosing a separation space (17) in which a stack (19) of separation discs is arranged to rotate around a vertical axis (X) of rotation. The method comprises the steps of a) closing one of the first (21) and second (22) liquid outlets and restricting the flow from the other outlet; b) supplying feed to the feed inlet (20) and measuring the flow to the feed inlet (20) and the flow from the restricted outlet (21,22); c) comparing the flow as a function of time between feed inlet (20) and the restricted outlet (21,22); and d) determining that air is trapped within the centrifugal separator (100) if the measured flow as a function of time flow deviates between feed inlet (20) and the restricted outlet (21,22). |

The separator is comprising a rotatable portion (10), a stationary portion (2) and a drive motor (4) arranged for rotating the rotatable portion (10) relative said stationary portion (2) around an axis of rotation (X). The rotatable portion (10) comprises a centrifuge bowl (10a) and a rotatable shaft (7) onto which said centrifuge bowl (10) is mounted. The centrifuge bowl (10a) comprises a separation space (9a), in which surface enlarging inserts (17) are arranged, an inlet (11) for supply of the liquid feed mixture, at least one liquid outlet (12, 13) for discharge of a separated liquid phase. At least one bearing (5, 6) is mounted to the rotatable portion (10) to facilitate its rotation, wherein said at least one bearing (5,6) is a grease-lubricated bearing. |
